Melonade - thank you for all the great suggestions! I especially like the idea of the fab pore peel as its good for spot prone skin :o. I thought that I wouldn't have to worry about acne in my 30s but seemingly not... what's even more annoying is that I never got any as a teenager! How've you found the Boots Vit E affects your skin? The witch hazel boots one I'm using seems to be quite good after trying it for the last few days.

Thanks lostinrates! My stash seems to mostly consist of lots of deodorants and liz earle toner so some other pampering bits would be quite nice. Unfortunately I live somewhere where the shopping is somewhat limited (thank god for the internet!) so its going to have to be Boots I think. I do like the idea of buying somethng I wouldn't normally want to spend a lot on though, like one really nice lippy, or eyeshadow. DSD is with her mum this weekend so will be dragging my OH round the shops today, lucky boy!

Babafette - Sugar crush sounds lovely, thanks - will definately have a sniff!!

    Thanks again!

Wow I have SO many things on the side of my bathtub....
I'm SO in for this challenge!

So, nothing new until the old is used up!
I will allow myself to buy the body shop coconut body butter if I ever manage to get to body shop, as I only have one other body moisturiser bar and it's quite difficult to use sometimes as it's a bar.

    An excellent idea.
I spend FAR too much on this stuff and then it sits there barely being used!

Other thigns I'm ALLOWED to buy:
Bath bombs from Lush - Well you use one a bath, so they run out quickly, and they are my one big treat to pamper myself.
Radox - I like to have a couple of different versions in because my joints are bad, so I like the muscley ones to help when they're painful, and also the relaxing ones for when I'm stressed and not able to sleep well, so I'm allowed to have a couple of different ones.
Specific Soap - I found a soap that helps with my psoriasis very well, and exfoliates as well. So even though I have TONS of soaps, I will be sure to keep that one in stock all the time so I can use it when my skin is bad.

I have no idea how much shampoo and conditioner I have, I think enough to last me the rest of the month, especially since I chopped all my lovely long hair as I was on morphine for a year, and it dried out and got really horrible.

I like this challenge, hopefully it'll help me save money!

  • Hi, I am doing well and using up stuff slowly..:) I have just finished a shower gel (boots own) a body scrub (soap & glory) a conditioner (aussie colours) and thrown away a couple of lipsticks, eye shadows, a foundation, compact and several other items that were old, grotty and I was never going to use. So I feel very pleased and proud.

(I Have also asked dd not to buy toiletries for me for mothers day)

I am actually making some shelf space in my cupboard, and only have a few half opened bottles to use up. I keep swopping them round every couple of weeks to stop getting bored. I blame the hairdreser who told me you shouldn't use the same shampoo all the time, its better for your hair to change what you use from time to time.:rotfl:

  • Hi ladies hope you are all well. Loopylulu congratulations chick, thats great news, i bet your over the moon and also happy to be working:j. Welcome Djonoma and all other newbies i may have missed. Completely lost ive never tried this my self but how about a vinegar rinse it helps to get rid of product build up with natural ingredients. Its probably best not to use the Malt variety though;):D.
Well ive only got two kiddies today, ds2 has gone to see my niece (Also 3 yrs & his best friend) with my mum. They rang from the car and he was so excited i really missed him.
    No products finished today though.

Oooh, I have to join this challenge. I've got loads of half empty bottles, jars, tubes etc.

I also have a spare room crammed with unused gifts and purchases.

Right! I'm off to do a stocktake.

    I may be gone sometime.;)

Well, my EDM foundation arrived this morning (ordered 8 days ago) - I have never been so overjoyed to see my postman, as I knew what he had for me :D I had two people say how great my skin looked today, so I guess it really does must make a difference! And it's nice not to be either dayglo orange or ghostly white.

edit - ooh, also I was ID'd for a lottery ticket today :o I definitely do not look like I could be 15! Must be all the pampering, LOL.

Well I finished a shower gel yesterday, and I think the current bottles of shampoo and conditioner are getting fairly empty so that's good :T

However the two bottles of moisturiser I don't like are hanging in there and seem to be taking forever to use up

This month I bought some Simply moisturising face wash to replace an Avon one which had run out, and I don't think I like it very much. It really dries my skin out. Has anyone else had this problem with Simply?

YES, definitely have that problem with Simple, which is a shame becaue in theory their products seem great (though I think I remember reading that their indgredients are not as 'simple' as they'd like us to think). I was using their rich moisturiser and it made my skin feel so tight and then dried out. I ended up using it on my legs just to get rid of it.

I'm typing this from Centerparcs. My only buy since I joined is the Boots Sun and gym shampoo, conditioner and protectant. I can't find the receipt but it was 3 for 2. It's the only shampoo range that seems to get the chlorine out and stop my coloured hair really fading and going very dry whilst swimmming so no guilt here I'm afraid! My DD had asked me to get her the No.7 Lip plumper she likes (Time Delay) so I got a £5 voucher- I will give this to her though as I don't really buy anything like that from Boots. She will probably put it towards another Lip plumper as she is totally addicted to it!

I have used up a Liz Earle c&p, have taken a 50ml size out of my stash to use as it was easy to pack. I have also used up a LE spray skin tonic, the spray ones seem to last me ages. I use both these every day and have more in my stash yet. We have finished 2 tubes of toothpaste (my boys use different types)only 2 more left in cupboard now, a mouthwash ( 3 more in stash-I buy OralB in bulk when on offer as my oldest son has braces and his dentist advises this as the best alcohol free one-I aim to never pay more than £1.25 for it.) I finished my ojon shampoo and conditioner (at last-hated the smell) and am now using some Australian stuff my daughter left the last time she was home-it's very very nice, thanks DD! I also finished a L'occitane Verbena handwash (lasted almost 3 months-only another 5 to go!) I love that so it's no hardship.
So I have made a small inroad into my stash and have no temptation to buy anything at the moment.I have put £14 in £2 coins into my pot as a contribution for all this (I collect £2 coins all year and use them to buy the kids presents at Christmas. Am always amazed how fast this collection grows.)

My only negative about this thread is that I read about stuff I have never heard of and I'm afraid it will make me investigate them when I am next in a store! I had never heard of the James Brown range (wasn't he a singer?!) but noticed the freebie on the front of a mag this morning! Managed to resist-phew!
Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!
