I've been comping for almost a year, and havent won a thing. I think it's purely a case of luck, just keep trying and enter as many as you can! I wondered that about hotmail, the hotmail addy I was using could have been seen as a spam one so I switched to a Gmail account that actually has my name in, don't know if it makes any difference (probably doesn't
)
Keep persevering! Positive thinking is good. I have been comping for over 10 years now (& I'm not even 30 yet lol) and yes there are droughts but the wins can be damn good and spur you on to keep going! :jWhether we win or lose, that we played at all was a winning decision.2011 wins £12,2922012 wins ...Thank you to all who post on here!!!! :A0 -
Hi Guys:
I have just won a mr site pro - website in a box jobby.
Am thinking - well toying with the idea or starting my own small business/second job
Are people interested in the whole paying a few pounds to have someone enter competitions on their behalf -
Have found a few on google at about £3-8 a month
Do you think people would be interested in this? Maybe I could tie it in with people that already comp - perhaps just do the enter daily, weekly, monthly one's for people - I know I find these quite time consuming. Then they could continue to enter comps in their own time without duplicating entires etc..
Let me know what you all think?
Would also only have a limited number of people I would take on.
Advice/feedback appreciated?
sandyNot really comping any more as too ill - but hoping to win £1000+ in 2017 in cash prizes - watch this space!0 -

Me personally I would have a trust issue, in that has the person definitely entered all these competitions. Also it is difficult to prove you have entered them for the person. I dont enter for everything as I am quite selective about which competitions I enter (geographical issues, or something I would not like/have no need for etc etc).
At the end of the day I find it a hobby and when I stop enjoying entering comps, I stop comping.
Maybe there is a market for this. What do other people think?
P.S Well done on your win!Whether we win or lose, that we played at all was a winning decision.2011 wins £12,2922012 wins ...Thank you to all who post on here!!!! :A0 -

1. i dont really want to quick my addy etc etc details to a complete stranger to input whereever they feel like it.
2. i would have no control over whether ticky boxes get ticked/unticked correctly or choice ove rif i actually might want a comnpany to send me their news etc
3. time....like you say dailies etc are quite time consuming, how could one person enter for many people?
4. lots of comps specify that thrid party entries are not allowed and will be discounted....whilst its possible to get away with the odd one or two extra entries using someone elses details i suspect that many entries form same ip addy would be spotted. using bots to enter also isnt allowed in most cases, so thats not an option either.
5. duplicates would still eb an issue if a comp is not spotted as a one time entry only but daily draw and prizes eg and other similar sorts of things.0 -
as the previous two replies. Well done Treacle, but I see multiple potential issues with your idea - plus I don't really see how you could make any money from it, as you say, doing the dailies is time consuming entering just for one person, what if you are entering for others too? I don't think your business idea would get many takers here, but I wish you all the best with your 'business in a box' I'm sure it will be exciting whatever you decide to do with it!0

In addition to what is said above. The customer has no way of knowing how many competitions have been entered on their behalf. I think the major issue is bulk entries from the same IP address. I can't see it ever working...sorry.0

Just moved this from another board as suggested by someone more savvy than me !
Since the Euromillions ticket price got hiked up to £2 and the UK Millionaire Raffle was launched there are a few things that I have not made sense to me.
I have never seen media coverage of winners (and they are creating one a week) or unclaimed prizes which I would have thought there would be as the winning ticket result is difficult to find, i.e. it is not with all other results on TV text pages, my friend has the Daily Mirror and it is never shown there with the other results. Why ? Other people I know have made the same comment.
Camelot's official stance when I asked them seemed a little on the
defensive side.... They said ticket holders should go to the retailer and ask them to check at the till, or go-online, or contact Camelot. Why is is so difficult to make the raffle results more assessable as other are ?
They also said "we can't tell the BBC / ITV etc and Newspapers what to print ". All seems a little strange. Why would a newspaper or TV text service choose to omit this one result ?
Also as I going to be away for 4 weeks, I have just done 4 weeks in advance and my raffle numbers have remained the same for all weeks. Now when I have checked weekly results, I always have the first two letters but never the third or the numbers ....... Looking down the list of winning tickets the initial letters seem to change each week, i.e. you never see the same twice, but I always have the first 2. Not explaining myself very well, but I feel my week 2/3 & 4 advance ticket are unlikely to achieve two correct letters ........ I would have expected a different ticket for each purchase.
Anyone have any thoughts ?0 -
This isn't the right place for this either, there's a comps discussion thread at the top of the board for conversations, this board is for comps only, sorry.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

Oh well, I give up. Tried so hard to initially bung it in the right place, got told off. Used a link suggested by a regular which I am not. Still wrong. I am pretty good on the computer, but do find this site difficult to navigate around the Forum pages.

I suppose its easy when you know how, but tonight I'm too tired to even try to work out how to start finding it. Thanks anyway. 'nite - (insert sad defeated smiley)0
