Started a new challenge for myself - the mpg (miles per gallon) challenge - i'm going to see if I can get a really high mpg to and from work as that'll save me loads of money in petrol! I've got a trip computer in my car, which provides endless entertainment on journeys anywhere, so I might as well use it.

Well, here's a turn up for the books!
I just discovered, by accident, that you don't need to pay council tax for 6m if your property is unfurnished and unoccupied! Purely by chance, the booklet fell out of the envelope onto that page when I extracted the council tax demand for my flat from the envelope so instead of ringing them up to pay them i rang them up to not pay them and then ask for my money back from the period before it was rented out, which apparently I can have back. I've sent them a short letter asking for the money back, should be about £350 by a rough guesstimate, which is rather excellent if you ask me!LBM: Nov 2004 Debt Apr06: £19,273.46 (Highest)

I haven't put the money in the bank yet - I'll probably have to do it this weekend when I get a chance to go to a branch.
