Hey ho at least you are doing positive stuff towards binning the debt off!

    :)

    Keep on plugging away...

  • Something for my to do list that I've added since browing the new site layout: change cashback credit card.

I'm currently with Morgan Stanley but now Egg Money pays more cashback so I'm going to have to make the change...

Trying to decide whether to apply now or whether to apply when I've paid off my credit cards once my flat is sold...

  • OK another thing I've found is to use Gumtree rather than ebay as Gumtree is free!

Much fun as ebay is, i might be able to sell it for free on Gumtree and save quite a bit of money!

Wow DDDK, you are doing really well with your ebay sales etc.

Nice to see your MOT didn't set you too far back. Thankfully ours didn't this year either.

Have you also seen the online car boot sale ibootsale.co.uk, not sure of fees etc, but another alternative to ebay.

I have been successful in my application with AQA and just passed my first review so I am my way to earning some extra cash. Every little helps!!

    bysie bye.
  • Trying to decide whether to jump to Egg Money as my cashback card:

    Egg
    • Don't Do Paper Statements = More Hassle
    • Good rate of 1% cashback on up to £20,000 of purchases

    Morgan Stanley Platinum
    • Only get 1% up to the first £2,000 of purchases and 0.5% cashback thereafter up to £20,000 of purchases
    • No longer issued!
    • Paper statements

    I reckon I spend a maximum of £12,000 a year on the card - actually more like £6,000 to £8,000 a year.

    So the first £2,000 is a tie at 1% = £20 cashback.

After that, Morgan Stanley pays £20 on £4000 extra yearly spend while Egg would pay £40...

Different goes up if I "spend" an extra £10,000 in the year, where Morgan Stanley would give me £50 while Egg would give me £100...

It does seem worth it, you know - at least from a financial perspective.

Someone did warn me about the payment times, though. Morgan Stanley pay you each time you get to £15 worth of cashback. Egg pays you annually in March. Saying that, I don't really mind but it locks you in until the next March - but, of course, you can just not use it until March, pocket the cash back and then close the card....

Yes, why not. I will apply for one.
