Gosh DDDK, had to reply as today's posts have made me smile - in a rueful and sympathetic way of course.
What a hassle it is juggling money about from account to account. Not so very long ago I had one current account and one credit card, how simple life was!
Good luck with it and let's hope the juggling pays off for all of us in the end.
The evening walks sound fun and I hope the short break is good - one good thing about the DFW life is we appreciate the treats so much.
Thanks for the support! I've decided to simplify things and just have three current accounts - a joint one for bills & food, one for spending money and one for debt payments. All with Nationwide.
Credit cards are what got me into this mess, so I'm obviously useless at managing them. So I have to stop using them, simple as that. The end.
Yes, I am looking forward to my break. And I'm not taking a credit card! :money:LBM: Nov 2004 Debt Apr06: £19,273.46 (Highest)

I just discovered, by accident, that you don't need to pay council tax for 6m if your property is unfurnished and unoccupied! Purely by chance, the booklet fell out of the envelope onto that page when I extracted the council tax demand for my flat from the envelope so instead of ringing them up to pay them i rang them up to not pay them and then ask for my money back from the period before it was rented out, which apparently I can have back. I've sent them a short letter asking for the money back, should be about £350 by a rough guesstimate, which is rather excellent if you ask me!
Even better, it appears that I am owed £412.02 according to the letter I just got from them! Wow!LBM: Nov 2004 Debt Apr06: £19,273.46 (Highest)

Hi all,
As the petrol light just came on at lunchtime, I decided to go and fill up the car...
The previous week (4th June) I filled it up after 337 miles at an average 32.2mpg...
This week (now it's the 14th June) I filled it up after 422 miles at an average 42.1mpg - wow :j
That's a 25% increase in distance covered by pretty much the same amount of fuel!
It also brings my cost per mile down from 14p a mile to 10p a mile. Yippee.LBM: Nov 2004 Debt Apr06: £19,273.46 (Highest)

Aaaargh.
Hopped on to Morgan Stanley internet banking only to find that my manual payment over the phone didn't seem to go through! Grrrr.
I can't deal with this any more. Credit cards are horrible and just seem to exist to cause me stress.
All I want to do is pay the full balance off monthly. Why does it seem to be so hard?
I give up. I cannot wait to see a zero balance, I really can't. I am really looking forward to being shot of credit cards. I want to cancel the card here and now, but I'm going to wait until the balance is definitely zero and then close it.
I can't decide whether to keep the Egg Money card or not. I like how you can front load it and still get the cashback, but I'm not sure I can be bothered...
DDDK
PS I phoned them and apparently they won't charge me anything and I went through the automated payment process again, so hopefully it will work this time...LBM: Nov 2004 Debt Apr06: £19,273.46 (Highest)
