Hi all,
Just checking in, will try not to gloat too much...
1) I'm engaged - I picked up lots of tips on buying diamonds and went to a place in London called Cool Diamonds and bought a really nice diamond, then got a ring designed at a local jewellers (the insurance valuation is nearly double what I actually paid, scary).
2) Getting a new car - my current car is now approaching the clapped out old banger phase so I've signed up to the work car scheme and I'll be getting a brand new Mercedes in December. This was quite a mountain for me to climb because as soon as the words "brand new car" are uttered, my instinct is to run away very quickly. Having done the sums, because the car scheme does everything before tax and includes free insurance, car tax and maintenence, it works out about the same as running my banger with the level of servicing I need to get around for work. Scary.
3) I'm nearly fully invested - I have about £16,000 invested in high yield shares, of the money I made selling my flat. Have a look at the Motley Fool website for more details on this truly genius method of investing.
4) I've got £5000 saved for the wedding already and have paid, in cash, for the engagement party already. Because I can!
5) I've got almost nothing on my credit cards - about £400, due to be paid off this month on my cashback card - and I've stopped using them now, even the cashback ones.
6) I've only got about £350 left of student loan to pay off.
Toodle-ooh.

Hi all,
Quick update:
1) Wedding plans going well - sorted church and reception venue and am moneysaving all the way - including shoes for £9 each for the bridesmaids and the material for my fiance's and the bridesmaids' dresses being bought from a wholesaler and her mum making the dresses!
2) Have now got saved £2,681.85 towards Wedding so far but have been spending some money already.
3) Have now got £17,250 invested.
4) New car running well and sold old car for just over £1000 on ebay (yippee!) - will put money towards wedding.
5) Paid off student loan and they have just paid me back £285.91 that I overpaid.
6) Got a Virgin Money Credit Card and have stoozed the whole amount in an ICICI savings account for 15 months.LBM: Nov 2004 Debt Apr06: £19,273.46 (Highest)
