I appreciate what are saying. Just wondered if it might be of benefit to watch how the changes you have made in your life to become debt free assist you in living a debt free life (if that makes sense).

Well, I've taken my first step into debt free life and have invested some money!
I know that I haven't paid off my credit cards yet but, having researched investing for the past few months (once I knew I was selling my flat) I have been itching to put some money where my mouth was but couldn't justify it.
Now that there are only 14 days to go (two weeks today) I decided that I might as well use the money I would have paid off my credit card to start investing.
I plan to save 6 or 12 months worth of living expenses of the money from the flat sale (haven't quite decided yet), pay off my credit cards and invest anything left over (should be about £7000 left over) so I opened an ISA earlier this week and I transferred in £1,250 and invested it in the stock market (it's gone down so much recently and I can't resist a bargain!).
