Finally got my Egg Money card through, but I am reluctant to use it.
1) It doesn't have paper statements, something which annoys me greatly.
2) It is a credit card, again something I don't like.
I will put it in the back of my wallet but I will have to think carefully about what to use it for, if anything. It no longer fits into my financial plans...
I will cancel my Morgan Stanley card. I'm fed up with all the problems there seem to be with it.LBM: Nov 2004 Debt Apr06: £19,273.46 (Highest)

Not too bad a week for spending - had to fill up the car and have had lunch every day in the canteen but no unnecessary spending other than the lunches at work. Got some Euros for the holiday next week so I don't need to find a cashpoint in the airport and we went out on saturday to a charity thing and treated ourselves to a cream tea. Yum!

Was just thinking how quiet life will be when I don't have all my credit card statements and bank account statements hitting the doormat every month...
Just bank account statements instead. Perhaps a savings account statement, but that'll probably be electronic.

As I've been writing over on the 18k challenge thread, it looks like my flat will complete in the third week of July at this rate. It's taking forever! I can't cope with any more problems, it's getting on my nerves. I just want rid of it now, take it, take it away!
The problem is that I've mentally sold it. I've also got this horrible niggle in the back of my mind that the buyers have decided to pull out, probably unlikely, but reading all these news stories about overextended first time buyers etc etc. gets me thinking bad thoughts!LBM: Nov 2004 Debt Apr06: £19,273.46 (Highest)

I've been quite efficient today:
1) Sent a letter to Tesco to close a redundant savings account that I never used and only opened to exploit a tip from Martin.
2) Filed all my post.
3) Printed off and filed all the missing statements for my A&L account (online banking only = yuk) so that I have a complete record before I close it.
4) Paid the balance of my Morgan Stanley card so it will have a zero balance by the end of the week, so I can close it.
5) Paid off the overdraft on my A&L account (not much, but needs to clear before I can close it).
I've decided I don't like accounts/cards that only have online banking. I like statements because then you know where you are and don't forget to print them! This is another thing I don't like about my Egg Money card that I just got.
EDIT: nearly forgot...
6) Made lunch this morning!
7) Posted something I sold on ebayLBM: Nov 2004 Debt Apr06: £19,273.46 (Highest)

Unbelievably, I've not spent anything this week. Not a penny. Five NSDs in a row! Empty spending diary. Will spend something at the weekend as will probably need petrol and need to get some new shoes, but still....LBM: Nov 2004 Debt Apr06: £19,273.46 (Highest)
