My Very Long Journey

  • Well one item sold at buy it now price on e-bay last night making me £5 and I've got a bid on another item for 99p which ends this morning. The other 3 items have no interest at all. Still £6 is not bad I suppose. Have decided to leave the money in paypal until it reaches £50 and then pay it off the debts. That way it'll be a nice chunk to pay off and hopefully keep the motivation going. That's the plan anyway. I've also counted up all the coppers from my jar and have about £38. Only trouble is the post office will only take 2 bags per day so I'll be forever cashing it in, so at the moment the bagged up money is sitting in a bowl in a cupboard.

The plan last night was to suss out magpie to see what I could get rid of but OH turned up for some tea and I ended up watching a film with him so magpie will have to wait until tonight. Have checked my La Redoute account and the £17 still hasn't been deducted and there's no sign of the £12 late payment fee being returned to me - barstewards!!! I'm hoping that by Friday the £17 will have been deducted and I am planning on paying off the balance. It may leave me a little short for money next week but there's plenty of food in the freezer so I'm sure we'll manage. Hopefully by the weekend I'll have one less debt.

Off to work now so will catch up with you all tonight.

  • Ooooo have just checked by Quidco and there's £65 tracked. Why does it take so long to pay out when your desperate for it. DS have also told me that I can sell his mobile phone. He had a new one for Christmas off Santa and his Dad has gone and given him one as a spare. He doesn't want it (I don't think it quite fits his image) so I should make £100 there. I love it when things come together. Really am off to work now or I'll be fashionably late!

  • Ended up working much later than planned so not long got home. Have listed 3 books on e-bay and re-listed 3 items that didn't sell. I have made £11 on e-bay over the last 2 days so thats a start. That's gone into the Paypal account so I'm on my way to my first £50. Am waiting for OH to phone me so that I can ask him if I can sell my 3 dongle for mobile broadband. Have cancelled my contract as I've found a cheaper deal with Orange so have a free dongle going spare. Don't really know enough about them to just list it so thought it best I wait for some much needed advice. Don't know how much I'll get for it, if anything but it's got to be worth a try surely.

Well done on the ebay items too, lets hope they sell.

NOW JAN 2019 (that still needs to change)
  • Some of my Quidco is from December time and it usually takes about 3 months to pay out. Have checked my paypal balance and it stands at £13.99 and I've currently got 6 items listed on e-bay so there's the potential to earn another £6 there. Have just packed the two sales from today that can go off in the post tomorrow so I'm all up-to-date again.

It seems to be taking forever for the £17 to come off the Studio balance - trouble with me is I've not got very much patience, I want things done NOW.

  • Well the £17 has come off La Redoute but have had my new online statement today and they've added £1.21 interest so my balance is up to £18.44 Gggggrrrrrr. Still no news on the £12 late payment fee, I think I'm going to have to give them a call! I'm not going to let it go, it's got to be worth a try hadn't it?

Have got a really busy couple of days in work from now until about next Tuesday so I'm hoping to really milk the overtime. I worked one and a half hours over yesterday, half hour on Monday and next monday I'll be doing 4 hours extra so there'll be a bit extra to play with at the end of next month.

  • Thanks for the support Ruby. Studio have passed the account to a DCA so at least I'm not paying interest on it. I can't wait to cancel the standing order with La Redoute. Once the payment goes out tomorrow I will have great pleasure in deleting them from my standing order list.

Have just realised that I have another little balance on my shapely figures account. The balance is £329.41 and looking back over the account there are quite a few charges applied so I've just sent them a pleading e-mail to ask whether the charges can be refunded to bring the balance down. Hopefully they will play baal and the balance of that can be reduced. Fingers crossed.

Your working really hard, it could be worth a go with shapely, you've got nothing to loose but could possibly gain good luck with that one.
