  • I agree with you there redmadcurls. With me it was also spending what I didn't have and when I did have it wasting it instead of saving it!

Have just done a budget for the week and have managed to scrape an extra £17 to pay off La Redoute so I've just transferred it into my account now. A few months ago they charged me £12 late payment fee so I've just sent them a lovely e-mail asking if there's any possibility I can have that back. If you don't ask you don't get and the worse they can say is NO. Just off to update my sig now :)

Keep it coming that must be half gone in one week!!!
    MARCH 2016 DEBT £25750/ £25035
EST DFD JAN 2021 (that needs to change)
NOW JAN 2019 (that still needs to change)
  • Yep, I've done pretty good and I'm quite proud of myself. Have decided that once this one is sorted the next one to pay off will be Studio. I owe about £500 to them and at present I'm paying back £5 per month. Once La Redoute is sorted I can increase the standing order to £15 and all the extra I can syphon from the normal account will go towards it. I don't want to spend months paying it off so I'm going to try and get that paid off by the end of June, that gives me 3 months. It's going to be a tough one but I'm determined to do it.

Well you have to remember that today you are less in debt than you were this time last week, so its 'all good in the 'hood', and once La Redoute has been re-routed you are flying!

    Well Done

  • I wish all of them are going to be as easy as La Redoute. Unfortunately there are a lot of debts and some of them are horrendous amounts but even making extra small payments will make a small dent. Oh if only I wasn't so stupid :(

  • Good news about the studio debt. I thought it was somewhere in the region of £500 but it's actually £429.20 :)

You were not any more stupid than many others here, including me. But now you are far from stupid because you are dealing with it. I have £49k and not one is less that £2000, one cc is £6000!! but each one is one less.

So no more stupid talk - lots more 'oh look at me, very MSN, and NOT stupid'

Hi Desperate to be debt free

Every penny really does count, I cleared my Additions Catalogue far quicker than I originally planned by sending them anything spare I had, I would literally send them 1p if that was all I had extra. I have taken the same approach with my Barclay Card and I will now clear my first credit card at the end of March.

Next one to tackle is Lloyds Credit Card at £9969, gonna be needing all those extra pennies to clear this one! It's currently costing me around £150 per month in interest, ahhhhh!

Good luck, stick with it x
