My Very Long Journey

Desperate_to_be_debt_free

Well guys, I've been a member of the forums for many years but think my old name may have been sussed so I'm starting again with a slightly new way of thinking. My debts are too horrendous to even go into details about but I've got them down as much as I've been able to by reclaiming bank charges ands PPI. I've e-bayed and amazoned practically every sprare item in the house and have been with CCCS for over a year now. I'm maintaining the monthly payments but feel I need to do more. I have therefore decided to make a determined effort to get myself sorted once and for all.
My plan is the post my lowest debt in my sigature and therefore name and shame until they are all paid off (I may well be here for some years).
The first debt is La Redoute and the balance outstanding on it is currently £50.23. I currently have a standing order set up to pay them an increased amount of £10 per month so I've only got 5 months before it's paid off (worse case scenario). However My aim is to get it paid off by the end of March. How I'm going to do this I have no idea but I'm determined to give it a go. The aim is to transfer every spare bit of money that I have during the month into this account and hopefully I'll be successful.
Wish me luck guys.

Have just phoned talk talk to find out if I'm tied into a contract with them as I was thinking about changing. They've agreed to give me caller display for free and have knocked £5 of my monthly call plan for a period of 6 months. Have double checked that by agreeing to this that I'm not tying myself into any contract with them and I'm not! Was only testing the water as have checked on moneysupermarket and they are actually the cheapest around for my requirements so I'm a winner all round!12/04/2019

Thanks for the support guys. I've gone for the smallest debt as it'll give me incentive to get it cleared. I'm not paying interest on any of my debt as it's all been passed to DCA's and no interest is being added. Feeling really down today. Had a really bad weekend and when I feel like this I just think why do I bother. I hate my house as theres so many things going wrong with it and I can't afford to put it right but I can't move because I can't afford to.

Well I've lived to see another day and managed to not spend any money at all. Am feeling slightly better than I did this morning but still feel as if I've got a massive mountain to climb. Not made any money today on e-bay or amazon so nothing to pay off the La Redoute debt but tomorrows another day.
No nasty letters in the mail either so things must be going to plan and that's something to smile about12/04/2019

OK first job of the day was to check the old bank balance and yep, there's enough money there for the two DD's that are due to come out over the next few days and for the chque I've written. There may be a few pounds left over to pay off the La Redoute but I'm going to make sure everthing goes out before I make the payment. Am hoping that by Friday I'll know. Fingers crossed.12/04/2019

Well the remainder of my direct debits went out today leaving a credit of £4.85 in the direct debit account so I've transferred £4 over to La Redoute. Not a fantastic amount but it's a start so the debt now stands at £46.23. Have got tax credits on Friday so maybe I can syphon a bit of that away to pay a few more pounds off. This is so disheartening and I'm only on my lowest debt got help me when I get to the biggies12/04/2019

Thanks herewego. I've e-bayed absolutely everything I can and made a fair amount which I've ploughed into the debts. It does help keeping a diary and I know £4 is a little help but it's so difficult trying to have money left over whilst on a DMP. I'm hoping I'll be able to use a few pounds off my tax credits over the next few weeks to try to clear this.12/04/2019
