Listerine has it's standard brand but also sells a special 'anti plaque' version at over a £1 more. If you look at the back the ingredients are exactly the same and in the same order.0

This is what the Listerine website has to say:
'Thanks to its unique zinc chloride formula, new Listerine Advanced Tartar Control mouthwash attacks the build-up of tartar'
Either they are making a false claim, or you have made a mistake or this unique formula is a trivial change that does not reveal itself in the ingredients (which do not tell us the quantities anyway)0 -
John Lewis own brand Ovens/Hobs are made by AEG according to shop floor staff. Just bought one of both from them, and it feels like sturdy stuff!
Looking at the AEG versions there are only small cosmetic diferences!:cool: :A0 -
Hi, newbie on board
My mum used to work for a Sainsbury's Savacentre and it was said that there were 3 big companies who didn't make products for anyone else; Nestle and Heinz were two of them and I can't remember the third, possibly Cadbury's?? I stand to be corrected though, and it's some time ago now so maybe things have changed
I know when I bought a Grundig TV, the destructions were identical to those for my Matsui DVD player.0 -

I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to washing powder-stupid really but I tend to think that Persil, Ariel, Surf and Bold are all superior to supermarket's own brand.
Advertising works-lol!
Try the Lidl own brand stuff and see how you get on. Dunno who makes it but it seems to do as goo a job as the major brands.0 -

Funny you should say this..some of the Lidl canned meats come in cans identical to Spam, same can, same printing, same sploges of glue holding
the labels on!
I'm not saying it's an identical product but is certainly produced in the same factory.0 -
Dewalt power tools are made by Black and Decker.
Skil, Dremel and Rotozip are all made by Bosch.0 -
and E45 is made by Boots. Parents went to the Boots factory and they tell you, they obviously can't sell in other shops with Boots on it, so named in E45.
Boots also own/make Nurofen, clearasil, Optrex and Strepsils.
Whenever you go into a pharmacy for a particular product (eg Nurofen) always ask if they have a "GENERIC ALTERNATIVE".
It'll have EXACTLY the same active ingredients in it (It has to by law) so it will do EXACTLY the same job, but will be CHEAPER.
The only thing that will be different is the packaging, style of tablet (Whatever), flavour, colour etc.
For example, generic Ibuprofen has 200mg of Ibuprofen per tablet and costs maybe 39p for 16 tabs, ie 2.4p per tab..Nurofen is £1.80 for only 10 200mg ibuprofen tablets, a massive 18p per tablet! Seven times more!0 -

Apparently Bourjois make up is made by Chanel (and is a lot cheaper) and I have been reliably informed that Clinique used to supply the skin care range for M&S - don't know whether they still do.
I recently bought a Sharp combi oven and was told in the shop that Panasonic make all the components, but the Panasonic combi is much more expensive.
I am terribly impressed with Asda's Xtra Special range having bought loads of stuff from them for Christmas - they must be made by someone good - any ideas?
Are you sure its Clinique that make M&S skincare, I'm sure I heard it was Clarins?
I've heard the Bourjois/chanel link before:D0
