i have a few friends working for companies that make/ supply products. When it comes to toiletries the MINIMUM quality for ingredients that tesco will accept is that used by L'oriel. And when it comes to factory inspections Sainsbury and M&S cause chaos because there standards are so much higher than those of other companies including the brands0

However, McVitie's ginger nuts are vegan and Sainsbury's aren't.
Sainsbury's make a soluable multi-vitamin which has an identical content list as Berroca.0 -
a few years ago now I went to Romania on business. We went on a visit to several Factories. one in particular located in Bucharest was producing suits for all over the world including Italy and the UK, I bought a suit from the factory shop, which was destined for the UK (not wishing to name the shop) for $10 USD price tag £120 shop is same name as the biscuit maker who made wagon wheels.
the factory produced 7 x 40 ft lorries a week for export.
also I have seen "Made in the UK" labels on China back stamps from some very well known ceramic potteries in the UK produced in Romania under contract not fakes but real stuff exported to the uk and abroad but made under licence in sigisoara.
Genrally this is common practice for businesses, If you want some designer Gear or suits Take a trip to Romania to Alba ulia area or research manufacturing companies, like Tommy Hilfiger in Timisoara,or for cheap shoes and boots like wrangler, to buy the products is not permitted from the factories.but hey have a great holiday :rotfl:

Check out Lidl.
They have a massive tin of it (800g) for a mere 69p.
It's been recommended by a magazine test, and I can confirm it's good stuff
Check out the Lidl website under Tried and Tested and you'll find itIf it's not a bargain, it's not worth buying0 -

Sometimes when we made too much Hovis, which happened alot (pre empting orders) this used to get stuffed into Tesco Value bags! Bargain if only you knew when that was.
M+S had recipie changes including more salt and sugar (for taste) and more preservatives including vinegar!
Talking about bread heres something that shows the tricks Tesco are getting up to with these soppy "brand" names they are coming up with (because they are running scared of Aldi)
"Wheatfield Bakery" (small print Produced in the UK for Tesco Stores Ltd) Soft White Farmhouse Loaf £0.85 - it is identical in appearance to and has exactly the same nutritional values as the £1.17 Tesco Finest White Farmhouse Loaf.0 -

I'm not sure whether this has already been asked, but what about cat food? Do companies that produce, say Whiskers or Felix produce supermarket own brand tins?
With regards to other value brands, I find that Morrisons' value bourbon
biscuits are better than most.
I almost always buy value pasta, and supermarket value pasta sauces are fine for a quick pasta salad too.
Value fruit and fiber cereal is always good to. Tastes similar to other brands and you can always add extra dried or fresh fruit.
I had wondered prior to her telling me as they're the only 2 types our cat will eat, he always leaves whiskas or any other "posh" or very cheap brand!:hello:

My dad is the manager of a large cake bakery in the North West. They make for M&S, tesco finest, co op, tesco value etc, they are made at the same bakery with a slightly different recipe change. The tesco value ones are made in poland.Trainee Wakeboarder, Fashion and celebrity devotee!0
