    Ooooh i meant to say.........

I have got Thorntons chocs for years and also M&S an the other day splurged out and bought 2 boxes of Marks chocs the Swiss one and their red box, i can confirm through taste test that the red box is Thorntons as said before(i had my suspicions for ages) and the swiss is definately Lindt chocs(the posh ones in the gold box, had 4 boxes last year and these are defo the same) they are yummy lol and at half price at min so are miles cheaper than both Thorntons and Lindt....am stocking up for chirstmas :)
I agree, I thought the Swiss were definately Lindt too!

after years of shopping in asda then tesco and now i do a small shop in sainsburys i find sainsburys meat and bread stays fresher , asda's meat defo goes brown and yuky looking well before its use by ergh. obviously i can freeze it but theres not always room .

The meat stays 'fresh' looking because of all the additives in it! The asda meat looking brown just shows that it doesn't have additives - the meat will be perfectly good to eat. My mate is a butcher and quite often is allowed to take stuff home because it's been on display and looks brown, so customers won't buy it, but it's excellent meat. Just worry when it's got green fungus growing on it. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I got some beef that was a bit brown and 2 days off the sell by, but had a nice Whoops sticker on it. The smell made me throw up. It's brown for a reason. Never again!!
  • Can anyone recommend a cheap tinned custard as good as Ambrosia? Or Ambrosia in a different guise...

And which cheap honey brands are good? Not too sickly!

Thanks in advance for any help offered.
  • Also looking for a good cheap tinned ravioli?
  • Me again...anyone know of good cheap Malibu and Baileys alternatives?

The Aldi version of Malibu is ok but you can definitely taste the difference as it were. It is usually about £5.49 but I bought it when they had a pound off so it cost me £4.49 which isn't bad considering the usual price of Malibu. My friends know how much I like it though so I usually get given a couple of bottles for my birthday which lasts me well into the year!
Aldi also do a couple of versions of Baileys, one was under £4 the last time I bought it and another version about £5-ish. Their mint version isn't bad.

Tesco Colours Concentrated Liquid (The purple bottle). Washed better than some of the more expensive brands (Ariel etc). Very good for white shirt. I use Tesco fabric conditioner (The yellow bottle) and it smells mmmmmm :D

The concentrated tesco fabric conditioner in the purple bottle is good too. Lasts for ages!
