    Hiya All :j

Wow huge thread took me ages to read but very very interesting stuff.............

I thought i would add my tuppence worth lol

I adore Heinz ravioli and always have so after reading this thread i decided to buy one tine of Tesco own ravioli and also Asda's at 29p a can, i opened the asda can last week to try and the result was...........YUK

Lol it si nothing like Heinz it is a millions miles away form that good yummy Heinz taste it got binned after one tiny nibble lol .
I haven't tried the Tesco yet but am reluctant as the Asda was really bad.

I am going to purchase value fruit juices again as am sick of paying over £1.00 in the chiller cabinet for "juice from concentrate" when it is exactly the same !!!

Toilet rolls cannot be skimped on a specail offer of 12 andrex will last me 2 weeks( my other half is heavy with it) but cheaoy stuff lasts no time at all.

Best Kitchen rolls are by far Lotus thirst pockets(i get them form B+ M stores 3 for £1.19)they are excellent but close second is Tesco's own kitchen rolls they are pretty darn good !!

Tesco own baked beans are fine
Tesco value chopped toms are great so is their value sweetcorn 17p a can, and kidney beans.
    Same goes for Asda's ""

Tesco's own washing liquid is great, so is their kitchen wipes, and kitchen spray and antibacterial spray, dog food, mixer, dog biscuits, cat meat.

Tesco's own soups are vile not a patch on Heinz !!!!!

I must add if anyone has a Heron near them go there and buy their bacon and cold meats they are absoloutly fantastic for the price, so is their frozen rice, gateau and generally anything in the chiller as it is 99% brands but dirt cheap eg:

    ski 4 pack yoghurts 39p
    petit filous 6 pack 29p
    i can't believe it's not butter 500g 59p
    Tropicana lotsa of flavours 69p
and loads more they get stuff all the time.........

Their naan breads for 59p are great too.

Gosh let me rack my brains lol for more stuff:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Tesco Light Choice wheat biscuits are Weetabix. You can tell from the identically shaped packaging (obviously the printing's different) and the IDENTICAL ingredients, and the identical nutritional information, down to the last tenth of a milligram of riboflavin - whatever that is. It can't be a coincidence.

I'm interested in all the comments about M&S....it is in accordance with what I heard years ago from a girl who I knew who worked in a meat pie factory - if a bit of meat fell on the floor, it was dusted off and put back in the pies, but not if the line was running for M&S - it got thrown away - well done, M&S.

(Also, I've got a John Lewis fr/freezer that's identical to my friend's AEG, but I didn't really think that John Lewis made their own! But it did mean that I got a 3yr guarantee instead of whatever AEG offer , presumably 1 yr)

    Hadrian re: cars

Also, Small Volvo = new Focus.

My understanding is that the floor pans (underneath ) are pretty much the same, engines the same (assuming you compare a 1.6 petrol with a 1.6 petrol etc). But you are right to question it, as the trim is obviously different, you may find the seats in one version much more comfortable than it's 'equivalent'. And as an example, The Smart 444 apparently has a very hard suspension, while the Colt is quite soft. So they ARE different, but sure enough, if you look inside the boot of a Colt, you'll find the Smart logo under the carpet. They are, I believe made in the same factory.
  • The 'Seashells Chocolate' sold in LIDL for £1.88 looks indistinguishable from the ones sold under the name 'Guylian' costing a lot more in other supermarkets. I'm not sure but I suspect Guylian supplies LIDL. Correct?

    Ooooh i meant to say.........

I have got Thorntons chocs for years and also M&S an the other day splurged out and bought 2 boxes of Marks chocs the Swiss one and their red box, i can confirm through taste test that the red box is Thorntons as said before(i had my suspicions for ages) and the swiss is definately Lindt chocs(the posh ones in the gold box, had 4 boxes last year and these are defo the same) they are yummy lol and at half price at min so are miles cheaper than both Thorntons and Lindt....am stocking up for chirstmas :)
  • For those of you who can't have a meal without baked beans, try the Sainsbury's basics brand - they're even better than some main brands. They're not too saucy or thin as you might expect.
  • after years of shopping in asda then tesco and now i do a small shop in sainsburys i find sainsburys meat and bread stays fresher , asda's meat defo goes brown and yuky looking well before its use by ergh. obviously i can freeze it but theres not always room .

I think Sainsburys meat is the worst and goes off quicker than the others - maybe it depends on which of their shops you use. Waitrose meat is lovely and fresh, shame its expensive, but certain things are worth paying more for whereas fruit and veg is the same wherever you get it (generally speaking)
Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155
  • I was reading about animal tested products, I search high and low for these, could a thread be started to source legit ones? M&S are now totally animal friendly and endorsed by the BUAV for household and cosmetics as are the Co-Op. The BUAV has a web site and will link to safe manufacturers. Astonish is all bunny friendly too and very cheap and great products for the home!
