I'm going to give this a go too. I have tried a few times in the past and failed miserably.
For myself, hubby, 6 year old son and my cat, I am going to try £45 per week. Was going to try £40 but will start at £45 and try to cut back over the weeks.

I have been so good at getting everything else cut back this is the one area that needs work and the fact that hubby is now not allowed any snacky things, crisps etc should help make it easier (I Hope!!!!)

I hope this gets kept on this board, as although I don't post that often I visit this board every day and rarely go anywhere else, I think that's why i failed before as it was on the other board and I didn't check in often enough.

    Thanks and Good Luck everyone.

    Hi there,

Oh - am I in time? Can I join in too? This would be my first month - I reckon we are currently spending about £200 for OH, me and 3 dogs. Can I start at £160? Know it is still a lot but don't want to run before I can walk!

Can I join. I had got the grocery bill down to £200 per month for all of us (2 adults, 2 teenage adults and a 12 year old) however its been creeping back up lately. Going to start today and do a month 20th july- 19th august. £200 budget. Should be easier as the two youngest are away until 1st but when they get back they will be at home all day clearing the fridge daily:D

Will be posting on this board however using the now how gained from the lovely people on the OS board.:T

Welcome to all newcomers to the challenge- course everyone can join in - you dont need to ask :D

I think in order to try and keep this in DFW, to try and post in terms of money what weve spent, not loads of recipes, hence it will end up over on OS I think moreso ?Nearly rich- can you explain

All the best elantan - crikey with that spend at the beginning you might be up against it, but all the very best with your challenge!!

SO, OK ,starting today, updating my sig NOW LETS GO GO GO!!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Shopping today - got everything we need for the next 10 days or so plus a few extras that were on offer and are now in the freezer. Total spend - £27.96 (with £13.20 saved through BOGOFs etc). Also got some herbs and plants for the garden using some reward coupons I found - usually we mislay these and they expire before we find them again! :o Overall a good day.
