DFW Grocery Challengers -

Have had to regig my budget a bit, thanks to my freezer.
It has done funny things to all the meat in it (freezer burn) so I threw it out and have to buy more. I know that wasn't very DFW but it looked awful and I for one couldn't have eaten it.
Surely a freezer shouldn't freezer burn meat or anything for that matter when it's properly wrapped?
So now instead of allocating £45 a week I have added it all together and have £225 to do me until 24th August (less what I have already spent).Debt at highest May 04 - £65,639.22 - Started DMP with CCCS 1st June 04 & now self managed DMPDebt now 20th December 2015 £31677.13 Paid Off to date £33962.09 - just not going quickly enough!
Debt free date July 2024! I don't think so, it'll be going quicker than that!!!

now lesson number one that i have learned so far DO NOT LET HUBBY DO THE SHOPPING as i was night shift i asked him to pick up the things for the chowmein (which was totally delicious) whilst he was there he picked up a few other things aswell ..but did he keep the reciept ..oh no don't be silly el you actually thought hubby would keep such a thing as a reciept when he went to the shops ..i can hear youall say ...anyway i figured out he spent th better part of £15 so i will need to update my signature yet again ..don't think i'm gonna make it at this point ...aaaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhhh0

Welll ladies (and possibly gents)
My first weigh-in comes in at £12.82 for this weeks shopping, plus some extras last week that I didnt really need. So I'm currently under pace for the month but I didnt get any wine - may splash out later in week but see how it goes.
I took a list for what I wanted though and stuck to it religiously apart from a couple of bread rolls that were additional so yippee for now.The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese :cool:0 -
Hey everyone,
I am not really coping well with working all the money etc for all this out as I stupidly started it before me and OH got paid for the month (this weekend) so I am spending *emergency* money rather than money we put past for groceries at the start of this month IYSWIM?
So I am starting again on Thursday as this is when I get paid - with the same figure £120. This is much easier for us as our normal £160 (£80 each) will go into joint account for food this weekend and if we have the planned £40 left at the end of August - we can use it for much needed printer cartridges.
I hope that this makes sense. I've really not spent stupidly this week and am not bailing out but would just like to work it out properley with the systems OH and I already have in place - if that makes sense. Also OH is on tour this week so I've had to give him money to buy cr*p food on the road - this won't be happening after this week.
Excuses, excuses... I read somewhere on here once that you can always start over.
Everyone seems to be doing really well. Well done!

Course it makes sense SS its best to do things round your financial planning - not round my payday:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Hi all
Did my first shop spent £45.48. Used £4.25 in coupons and should have enough food to last until Sunday. Spent too much this week as power cut at the weekend resulted in me throwing all my freezer contents away:mad:

Would it be ok to join next month - as I seem to buyu junk or prepacked food and this would give me some disipline. How much would you suggest for 1 person ( it will just be me for a while ) per month?😁0
