That's such a shame......Oh well at least you tried - something will come up try not to be too upset ......... We have had setbacks and it is strange but even though it seems like your world is going to fall apart, something always comes up when you least expect it xzippychick wrote: »on the phone to house insurance now. Thanks guys, yous are all very sweet xxx
I have an excess of £100, plus my premiums will go up by at least 5% so doesn't seem worth claiming as it's probably around the £100 ish mark . Ah well.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Sandy- so sorry, its horrible losing a well loved furry friend.(((Hugs)))
Zippy- I've had this happen twice, and its very annoying & frustrating.Chin up & hugs.
Just had my lunch, leftover soup from last night.I think they all quite liked 'soup night' again, particularly as I had bought some dips for dh birthday and forgot to get them out then,so we had them first, then soup & rolls, and cake or pie.I made two lots of soup-butternut with Thai spices,or courgette & brie.I made the 2nd one in my new pressure cooker- I have one already but wanted a hi-dome one as its bigger capacity, with DS1 home now I am cooking in bigger quantities.
I am off to town for an hour,I want to look in the big library.
Hugs to anyone I've forgotten who needs one.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Thanks again folks.
Well, the fridge was delivered but was half an inch too tall to fit under my unit, so i have had to send it back to currys. My Mum has to go up to change the order bu she lives over 50 miles away. Again i started to cry so they rang the depot to see if i could keep it temporarily but i can't.
Think I am gonna get Mum to cancel her order, and get a new one myself as it saves her having to drive over 50 miles. No doubt mum will berate me for not having measured as she instructed me to, but i thought the previous fridge was massive and oversized so didnt think a new one would be taller. Plus the gas leak was more important.....
I really didn't think this day could have got worse! So from having a mal functioning fridge freezer, i now have none apart from a tiny beer fridge.
HM Ready meal anyone?:rotfl:A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Zippy - so sorry everything seems to be going wrong for you at the moment. Hugs. x
Butterfly brain - no I didn't get any anti-virals. The sick note was done via a phone consultation. The very small amount of spots I have aren't spreading, and the painkillers are controlling the pain, so will just have to wait for it work its way out of my system I suppose.
Sandy - so sorry to hear about your cat. I will be in bits when any of my 3 go. x0 -
Hi guys
just a quickie from me today as i have to set off for work in ten mins
I`m blaming Money Saving Diva for me running late as after reading her post yesterday i just HAD to plant some seeds
you reading this Diva Hmm? *taps foot with arms folded* :rotfl: I`ve now got 4 bell pepper, 4 mixed chillies, 4 purple chillies, 4 outdoor chillies, 4 patio chillies and 4 lemon chillies on damp kitchen roll in jars in the airing cupboard
Must remember to tell DH or he`ll be hit by an avalanche of jars when he goes in there for towels and the likes
I`ve made an enormous cottage pie this morning and i`ve just finished sorting out the kitchen so all is clean and tidy now. I was also out with the houndies for ages this morning and they met some new friends as well as all the usual crowd so they are both happy and snoozing away.
Sandie - So sorry to hear about your cat ((((HUGS))))
Zippychick - ((((HUGS)))) for you too, hope that you get sorted soon, chin up girl. Its horrible when everything seems to go wrong at once isn`t it. Been there myself and its not nice.
Taplady - I have a horrible feeling that we shall go overdrawn next month, it will be the first time in ages. I`ve also discovered that i`ve been underpaid from w*rk  this happens all too often and really throws us out until its sorted.
Flutterbyuk - Glad to hear that you`re feeling better.
(((HUGS))) to anyone i`ve missed. Must dash.
Have a nice day peeps.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon

I used to suffer with hormonal migraines and had the depo injections for more years than one is supposed to
but the best bit was no "decorators visits" and no more hormonal migraines

My insurance told me to list everything & price it up.....zippychick wrote: »....I have an excess of £100, plus my premiums will go up by at least 5% so doesn't seem worth claiming as it's probably around the £100 ish mark . Ah well.
....once you have listed & priced everything (including the meat content of any frozen things, and the frozen chickens you had too) you may be surprised - check on Tesco's website for actual prices

Good afternoon
As usual have been reading but not posting enough.
MSD - Great news about Tris
Sandy - (((Hugs))) Its never easy when we lose a pet
Rabbit - Sorry to hear your story. Men are funny creatures. When my DD split with her OH he was more concerned about getting the saucepans as he said they were expensive and he chose them! DD said thats what 11 years of marriage came down to
Its nice to see the evenings staying lighter, spring is hopefully on its way.
Looked at the weather forecast this morning and it said sunshine, so decided not th light the fire. Looked out of the window and it was drizzly and overcast, so lit fire. Rain now gone and sunshine, and a blazing fire, and all windows open. Grrrr
Spag bol for dinner tonight. Got lots of "bits" in the freezer that need using up to free up some space.
Talking of freezers - Zippy - Sorry you're so down, things always happen at once. Hope you get sorted out and feel better. Hope things work out with your friend.
(((Hugs))) to everyone feeling under the weather0 -
Morning :hello:
I've been arguing with myself lately, but it's OK, I won :rotfl: Master tru threatens to leave home every time he disagrees with something
Miss tru has turned into a lazy dole bum
I told him to get over himself, respect our rules (there aren't many) and either leave or don't, but stop going on about it. I told her she either gets a job and pays her way, or she has use of her bed and the shower and that's it. She thinks JSA is her 'wages' for her to spend on herself. Not likely, says I. You can hand it all over except for £15, which will buy you a weekly bus pass and leave you with £5.
So, my argument with me was - as the kids treat us like rubbish ALL THE TIME, do I do the same to them? No, that makes me as bad as them, and I can't complain about them if I'm doing the same thing. Yes (says the other half of me), they're not listening anyway and the only way to get their attention is to fight back with what they want the most - money and decent food. So I've confiscated their cashpoint cards and bought them their own food. I went to Morrison's and bought frozen value lasagne, chicken curries, etc. Master tru gets crisps for his work lunchbox but can't have them at home, Miss tru gets none cos she doesn't work. Apply that to everything in the house, and you get the idea
Miss tru has to sign on today, she stayed at her boyfriend's last night, bet she doesn't get up on time. She'll lose her money. Shame.
So now, we're only half OS
Me and Mr tru are carrying on as normal. Still ploughing through homegrown veg and eating homelaid eggs
I've decided to add the chickens to the business and I'm going to design a label for eggboxes. I buy bales of hay for the animals, I'm going to buy extra, bag it up and sell it. A friend has his own hot sauce business and wants to buy our chillis (I think I mentioned that on here before?). I'm also going to sell some of the veg from the garden. Cards need to be altered (I put contact info in each cello bag). I've got a new biz name, so I'll sell it all under that. And as for the EU saying they're going to stop online sales unless you have a bricks and mortar shop, up yours
I'm going to let the chicks (2 weeks old) run around in the kitchen while I clean them out. Bit worried I won't be able to catch them again.................:D
With you all the way Tru, when my DS was 14 and starting to feel his feet, I said he had better get his fingers out and get enough qualification to get a job, for if he wasn't working, and I worked full time, then responsibiity for everything in the house would be his, washing, cleaning, gardening, cooking. Knowing me to be a woman who keeps her promises (and threats) he decided that getting qualifications, going to uni, and working was the easier option.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Hi everyone
Lazy time being had here due to rather nice weather:o. Friends coming round and eating out tonight, fish pie for me for the last two days, and meatballs in hm tomato sauce with either spaghetti or jacket spuds for DH.
Glad you had a nice bargain trip away, sorry don't know a cheap, reliable plumber in WYorks.
Rabbit, Sandy, zippy
Take care

Evening all
SIL has done my hair and I am really pleased with it. The beauty of having her do it is that she knows exactly what I like and what suits me ( Lost count of how many times I have been to a Hairdresser only to come home and restyle it ) And the best bit I didn't pay cos I fixed her computer I love the barter system.
Zippy I really feel for you .....What a horrid day you're having - wish I could help in some small way xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
