Thanks for the support re being so tired - I managed to stay up until 10pm last night  :o:)

Unlike me, who fell asleep on the sofa at 8.30, woke up 20 mins later, had a hot milky drink then went to bed and slept right through till 6.30 this morning :o.

    Morning all,

Wet here again, fed up with it now, we are due big storms this weekend too, I think OH will start on the laminate in dd's bedroom, but it would be nice to gat the dog out without getting soaked to the skin.

Off to work today, its a busy busy time for us, which I think is why I am coming home shattered.

I need to do a wash tonight and get it on the airer, dinner tonight will be fish fingers chips and peas, veggie burger for dd, nice and easy.

Last nights dinner was lovely, I had a mixture of onions, mushrooms, yellow pepper and a tin of toms which I fried off, mixed this in with some cooked pasta, I also had a portion of veggi mince chilli left, so mixed that in too, and a big spoon of creme fraiche, topped with a bit of cheese and cooked in the oven, it was delish :D

Julie, sorry you had such a rough day xxx

Snoozer, big hugs to you xx

    Have good days all xx

    Good morning all,

MSD glad to hear Tris is home
    Jackie the doggy is gorgeous!
Bitsy take a couple of painkillers before you go

Busy day here today. The builders are still working on the bathroom. They have built me a lovely airing cupboard round the boiler (is it so wrong to be excited about shelves in a cupboard?), and the sink unit is illuminated by 3 lights set in a plinth above the mirror. It's starting to look like a bathroom.

I need to make food for the house elf today as there's none of his favourites left in the freezer, so I'll be making spag bol, chilli, lamb stew and I'm going to make some pasta bakes for me. I'm also off to see the house elf in a school play this morning called "The Seed", then they are planting things afterwards. I think we're slightly ahead of school on this one, as last year we grew rhubarb, raspberries, peas, carrots, blueberries, strawberries, tomatoes and a giant sunflower! I wanted the elf to know that food can be grown, not just fetched home from the shops.

    Take care all of you

    Morning all

Love and hugs to those who are sad or poorly.

Foggy and very wet here. Yesterday turned into a bit of a strange day as OH had to go down south leaving here at 6pm - so didn't get back until 1.45am, and they needed his vehicle back at 7.30am this morning so he's gone to take it back, then will be home for some r&r before going back to work in a bit. Dinner last night was in 2 shifts as OH managed to get home for dinner before he left, luckily the dinner I had planned was pork chops so cooked his separately with mash etc so he had a good hot meal before he left! We then ate at 6.30pm, so had a quiet night, got all the normal jobs done, then had a lovely hot shower, hairwash etc at my leisure, that's a rare occurence!!

Have quite a busy day planned as I want to get the housework done, washing, drying and ironing, do the menu plan for next week and shopping list for tomorrow. Will need to get baking/cooking done too, phew.... not sure if there's enough hours in the day! Will stick in and do my best, once I get going I should be able to break the back of my list.

Will go to the scales shortly, still chasing 1lb for a total loss of 3 stone, not sure what I've done this week, may have done it or stayed the same, have been pretty good though, have to wait and see.

Am going to shoot off so I can put another wash on and get some on the airer.

    Have a good day everyone.

Keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Good Morning All,

Feeling much more positive today. Thanks for all your good wishes:)

Got to pop out this morning. Need to stock up on foil and a few toiletries so a trip to H*me Bargains and will pop next door to Fa**m Foods for bread. It's still 2 loafs for £1.00. Would love to make all my own but just not managing that yet. (and they are Ho**s)

Mioliere Your renovations sound great. We are just in the planning stages of a new kitchen. It's the only room we haven't touched and it really needs an update. V Excited as its the room I spend the most time in:A

Out to SIL for a meal on Friday which will make a nice change. Not too much planned at the weekend but hoping to relax and spend time with the family.

Sunnygirl bought myself a new crochet book yesterday which is great 'The Crochet Bible' which has some really cute Easter bunnies in. I am hoping to make at least one for my DGS for Easter. Will post a pic:)

Off to put another load in the wm and get DS3 out the door for school. Slightly damp today but no snow or frost so roll on spring, surely it can't be much longer.

Have a good day peeps. Big hugs to those who need them J x

  • One day soon (maybe the weekend) I will go through the thread and reply to people by name, sorry I haven't had time to do that yet, I hope you don't think I'm rude. Passed ex on my way to station today (he was coming home from nights) and he didn't even acknowledge me. We spent almost every day together for 6yrs, he was the most caring person I know and even the day he dumped me he was sending me texts sayin he loved me. Hurts so much I dunno how he can be like that.

Not best start to day but hopefully it'll get better. OS wise not much going on yet but going to try and do a supermarket shop (to go in my 'designated shelves' in the fridge and cupboards) and wash all the towels.

Hugs to all and hope you have a good day xx
Thank you to all posters :A

Morning all.....(((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))) if you need one.....

Snow very bad in the north and west with more coming behind, thankfully we are closer to the sea and just have rain and mist. i hope it stays off for tomorrow I am due to drive to Ingleson for the quilt show, although the ticket is open, so if it is bad I have the option to go either Saturday or Sunday.

OH has an appointment with the Dr this morning, we are going to carry on into Haddington to do some shopping for the next couple of week; So a day off from the cleaning today, I might manage to overlock the edges of the nets from the 2 bedrooms.

Macoroni cheese for supper, jacket spuds and baked tomato's, might do baked banana as I have to have the oven on anyway.

The wood stove was still in this morning, so a handful of kindling on and its blazing away, I will close it down before we go out, leave the sitting room dorr open so the house will be warm when we come back.

The potato lorry has just been for the spuds, the work is slowing down now, they are almost at the end of the crop, the piggy wagon was here very early this morning.........

Time to get ready to go............

    Cheers.............

...Been looking at the cost of holiday cottages for August when we want to go away....One place I looked at wanted £1400 for one WEEK!......

Have you looked at Haven? Lots of things for the kids, and in nice places too - I did them several years running when my kids were younger.

Maybe if you ask the bank nicely they will refund the charges? No harm in trying!

That might be a coping mechanism, don't take it too personally. I also struggled with that experience years ago, it is very hard at the time, but you will feel better in time, honest.

Well, I got all our invites written yesterday - think I will be writing "Friday 3rd September" in my sleep! :rotfl: Just need to invest in some of Royal Mail's finest stamps to mail them.

Got the freezer defrosted yesterday too - had an hour of panic when I turned it back on as it didn't seem to get cold, but I went back to it a bit later & it was chunnering away to itself & the thermometer was going down, so I have put the stuff back in & hoped for the best! Will go & check in a minute...:p

OS today is tackle the dust bunnies & carp on the floors, tidy our bedroom, go to the Post Office with invites & a Greenmetropolis book to post, make chicken pies and go shopping to refill de-iced freezer :D Also need to list some stuff on Ebay, to fund my shopping for the wedding ;)

Also need to remember to go & get my eyebrows waxed - am starting to look like Dennis Healey, complete with scary silvery white "highlights"!! :rotfl:
