    Hi everyone,

Well I've read the thread but have to admit I can't remember who's done what.

Managed to get DH to bed earlier last night - he's been obsessed by the Olympics but he was shattered.

Spoke to mum and she had managed to fall in the hospital, luckily she's only bruised but of course she is shaken up. I told her we would see her on Saturday so that cheered her up.

I need to use the lo chicken in a pasta dish I make tonight, I'll give half (or more) to DS because I can't reduce quantities and it won't freeze. I'll also make some steak and kidney pies to take up to dad at the weekend.

    Morning all

Just having a break from the big bake-athon:eek:. Have made oat shotcakes ( with dough for 20 more in freezer, and am just in middle of 40 choc chip cookies, before I make cheese scones and maybe cakes;).
DS is now banned from shop bought biscuits at all and he is taking some keeping up with:p
MSD ahhh poor treacle with only 3 teeth:cool:. I am still undecided about the stationary as I need to personalise it too much....I am wording it so DS is doing the inviting:D
Bitsy good luck at the docs....I cant have Mirena due to the hormones and my migraines so am still not sure what I am doing from that point of view:o. Thought of normal coil but heard too many people getting pregnant on it:eek: trying to talk OH into sorting it iykwim but he is slow in coming round to it:o. Have you looked on the Farmstay website for hols? We go to a one in Yorks and in school hols it is £625 a week for a self catering cottage which sleeps 6 and DS gets to help with the animals and as part of the price you get to collect your own eggs from the chickens which DS loves:D. We did Haven a couple of years ago and hated it, came home after 3 days as DS didnt cope at all. Some people swear by it though.:D
Sandy so sorry to hear about your dear cat:( I thought that must have happened when you hadnt been on:o. It is so very sad. As for the chicken pie, I am making one today using cooked chicken and this is what I do......Melt butter and half a Knorr chicken stock cube together in a suacepan then add plain flour to make a roux, then milk to make a sauce. I then stir in the chicken and put it in the pie. I don`t know the quantities as I do it by eye. It is easy and tasy and I sometimes add cooked bacon or some mushrooms or asparagus to it.

    Hi everyone

Not posted in here in a long time, just needed to vent . My fridge freezer has packed in so i have just had to bin the ENTIRE contents of it as I can't risk giving myself food poisoning, and i already suffered a bit from trying sausages from it the other day.

Can't explain how depressing it is , binning all this meat, and my little pile of chicken carcasses and everything. I am hoping at least my ready meals will survive until the freezer arrives later which could be up to 330 - but then it will take a while to freeze over. It's horrible, my freezer is packed to the gills.

There is a gas engineer upstairs fixing my boiler to the tune of at least £400, and ive had no heating or hot water for two days . I have some structural problems (boast walls with crumbling bricks), and am aware I really need to get my chimney rebuilt , a new roof, new guttering etc - the quote i had was for £3700.

My Mum has bought me a new fridge (much to my protests), and has offered to pay for most of the gas bill as she feels to blame - very long story but we thought i had a gas leak, then turns out it was someones heating four doors up , but i ALSO had a small gas leak at the same time.

I[STRIKE] could just sit and cry [/STRIKE] am sitting crying - sometimes I just feel so overwhelmed by having a house and living on my own. If something goes wrong, its my fault to know it's wrong and if it's not fixed, it's my fault .

Plus my best friend and i have had huge problems and it looks like our friendship is over .

Sorry, ive actually rather upset myself , im just feeling completley overwhelmed by everything today, and apart from crying on the gas engineers shoulder, i didn't know what to do. Sorry to dump it on you lot. :(

I've not read the daily for some time so i feel really bad coming in here like this.

Sorry things are so bad for you at the moment it is awful when everything seems to hit you at once ((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))

See if you're covered for loss of food on your house insurance but don't throw anything away just put it in a black sack so the assessor can see it. I did this when mine packed up and got £267 hope this helps you in some small way xxxxx

on the phone to house insurance now. Thanks guys, yous are all very sweet xxx

I have an excess of £100, plus my premiums will go up by at least 5% so doesn't seem worth claiming as it's probably around the £100 ish mark . Ah well.

In fact i was that close to chucking DS1 out of the door last week  I just hope to goodness my angel does not turn as I am dooooomed! Really good luck in sorting them - keep us posted!
Sandy - so sorry about your furry friend.
Ladyshopper - take good care of yourself x

My cleaner is here today and Im organising the washing. The sun is shining and my crocuses are out. My parents are treating me to some potting compost and primroses as they were such beautiful colours at the garden centre yesterday. Im still planning my OS trip to Imperial War Museum so really looking forward to that on Saturday.
    Have a lovely dayx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
