Ladies and gentleman, I am just about to leave for work. Before I do, I would like to repeat my thanks for all your support.
Today I received an email offering me (subject to approval and checks) a position of census collector. It will 15 hours a week, in my local area for one month and can be worked around my shifts. The rate is £8 an hour, so will be another chunk off the Santander credit card. That should be gone by June! So, we start again. Here starts the next steps0 -
Can someone suggest a hotel/place to take my wife (except London) for a nice evening. My mind has gone blank. Not worried about the cost.0

Oxford and Cambridge are lovely places, if you both like architecture etc.
Think Cambridge has a lot more to do I think.

Hang the expense. This is needed.
FW, we have decided that she will support england and I will support the Windies!
You see, William, the power of witchcraft! Two days ago you were seeing yourself homeless, divorced and not able to see your children. Today you have your job (till you want it this is; I have not given up on this one), know that your wife is just angry with you and can look after your family (or, forgot - still have your house and wiping out the negative wealth).
Good.

I am so pleased that the interview all worked out...it may not feel like it right now but you will be stronger for this experience.
Also I am so pleased that you are planning to treat your wife...she sounds like a wonderful person & are very lucky.

William, SSA is right - stunning. If you decide to go there, there is a lovely bed and breakfast in Wotton-under-Edge. It is called Sunrise House and the tel number is 01453 842322. We have stayed there couple of times.

I am really pleased that this is such a good outcome for you. Now onwards and upwards..hmm wonder if that is as metaphorical as SW's little bit of pleasure
Have a good weekend. Bob x
Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Well done, Mr D. I'm sure your resolve to remain calm and accepting helped you enormously. Work out your anger before you go back to work, and try to start again with a positive attitude. If it was me, I would say to my colleagues that you have been put in a very awkward position and that you hope they won't put you to the test.
As for where to go for a weekend away, how about Bath? You just need to get on a train (or do you avoid trains???), it is a relatively short journey, the station is in the centre of the city so you need not worry about driving, there are beautiful sights, great restaurants and a good atmosphere.
Wherever you decide to go, have a wonderful, restorative time. Treat your missus like a queen. Relax, and look forward to new beginnings."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0
