  • Am I missing something here? Bob????

Ok, In from work at an ungodly hour. Major problems on one of the lines this evening with a person under a train at one end of the line and a signal failure at the other. Trains stuck on platforms for up to 40 minutes at a time. Just another day at the factory. Finally got away from work 30 minutes

Loads of comments from staff, many asking if there was anything they could do. Loads of support. Many think I was being used as an example to keep staff on edge.

My colleagues in my grade seem to have varying thoughts on the matter, some good, some bad, some very nasty. I spoke to the guys about the situation and most accept that in the present climate, things have to change. One guy blames me for ruining the system. He always was a !!!!!.

    Unlucky west indies!

Time for a shower then bed I think.

Nice to hear that your genuine work colleagues have been supportive. You always get someone that wants to play the system and doesn't like it when they are told they are no longer able to.

When you go into work focus on the nice people and happy things. It will be hard for the next year, sometimes you may feel you are under scrutiny, but remember that you got through that meeting 4 hours of what have must have felt like Armageddon but you made it. Don't even acknowlege the comments made by mean people they are losers, in Gullivers Travels Jonathan Swift called them Yahoos. You are worth ten of them and don't need their negativity in your life. You are in a different league altogether that's what they dont like, think happy thoughts - you have a fab family and this has bought you closer to them and you have learned how strong you are and that positivity always pays off. Use this focus on your dreams and what you want for the future. You are WilliamD1964 you have been to hell and back in the last week, and have made it and you will continue to go from strength to strength.

I have to thank you for allowing us to be a part of this you have know idea of how much you winning this battle has empowered me. It has helped me to put some of my own ghosts to rest. Bless you William and thank you for being here.

  • Am awake. Yesterday before I left, I spoke to a guy who I have a few run ins with at work. Interlectual and geographical differences would be the best way to describe it, but I hope that there was also a certain level of professional respect. He sais that there was a few nasty rumours going around, I had attempted to implicate two other members of staff and I needed to scotch these rumours before they got out of hand. The rumour was that I was blaming them both and that management we looking into them working together with me to deliberately cause the company problems.

So, this morning I made a phone call to one of the colleagues and spoke at length to him. Matters were a bit strained but we talked it out. I explained that the management had asked if I had acted together with others to cause problems and I had answered no emphatically. I have known this guy 27 years, he joined the company 5 months after me and we have worked our way up the ladder on a similar path. He said it didnt sound like me but knew I was a bit iffy recently and wondered if I had said something without thinking. We left on good terms and will speak at length later.

The trouble with working for a large company like I do, it seems to survive on rumour, heresay, gossip and speculation.

still trying to decide where to go. Time to water the seedlings

yes it is unfortunate that when you are working with people, large or small company, somebody always likes to "gossip" spread untrue rumours, or tell everyone about everything! I work with a young colleague, it is a small company and she is the same. Nice to your face but will turn around and tell everyone everything you have said. You just cannot trust her with anything, but sometimes if I want to make my point, I tell her directly knowing she goes straight back to the person I am talking about and tells them. It gets my point across. I know this sounds underhand but this person will not listen to me, they resent me and will not accept that I have greater working knowledge than them, this is the only way I can make them listen.
