Oooh thanks for the tip Swinstie! I've seen them before but I'd forgotten all about them! Speaking of flip flops, I spent Saturday afternoon cutting out (albeit with my Sizzix so quite easy) and assembling 60 of the darn things to make into bunting! And because I'm fussy they had to be all different colours and patterns and the straps had to be different to the bases but they had to 'go'...took me ages! Who's going to notice really?! I'm going to have to make more too; I only had enough paper (sneakily downloaded from various crafty sites and printed off at work!) for 60... so I'm doing more sneaky printing this afternoon!
Tete, you're right about getting things sorted now rather than later, there's no way I want to be that stressed in the run up to my wedding! I keep thinking I have loads sorted, but I don't, I keep having ideas and planning things but I forget to actually order the things I want! Really need to get the mini umbrellas and topiary balls ordered soon so I can get them done and into storage so I can concentrate on something else!
I have got my wedding undies sorted though so that's another thing ticked off the list. My Mum took me last week and bought me a cream lacy Lise Charmel set with a matching garter, it's pretty but TBH I can't really remember what it's like (it's at her house so I can't see!), I hate underwear shopping and I was so fed up by the end that I just agreed to get the one that fitted properly and was the most 'bridal'! All I need is my jewellery and I'm sorted, think I'm going to my Mum's friend's tomorrow night to see about getting a necklace and bracelet made so all I need is some earrings then I'm ready to go! Personalised towels?! That is a bit OTT. Who wants one weird towel floating around in their collection?
Oh yeah, it's all the rage! Look! And here! Mental!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

Oh no I totally agree with Lara - why would you want a load of naff stuff with someone else's wedding date on it which you'd feel obliged to keep? What you're doing is much better!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Totally agree - Patti and Larry need to get a life
I would much prefer your nice treats:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
LOL Bubbles I agree about the tag, it doesn't even make sense! I think for some 'OTT' is the right thing to say! I don't even think I'm going to bother with personalised totes, I wouldn't want to walk around with a bag that has someone else's name on! Everyone will have beach bags anyway, think I'm just going to get paper gift bags that will look nice then can be binned! A lot cheaper too!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. My flip flop bunting has made some headway, I've so far managed to make 6 strings of bunting and I think I'll make a couple more. Here's one of them (excuse the kitchen cupboards! It was the only place I could hang it as they got a bit lost against my wallpaper!). I'm quite pleased with how they've come out, OH didn't really see the point of my 'wasting' so many hours working on it when I could just buy some bunting but I know that this is totally unique to me and I like that!
Getting quite excited about my hen party as my friend has now asked for a list of friends to invite and free weekends so she can get the ball rolling with getting it all booked! Ooooooh! Got a big pink prom dress, blonde wig and blingy tiara on my ebay watch list to get on payday!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Hey Birdie, flip flop bunting looks fab!
Want to pick your brains about you getting married at the registry then going to DR, if you don't mind? We were planning on getting married in Barbados before our cruise sets sail, but just found out our flight doesn't arrive til 2pm and the magistrates office closes at 3.15pm so no time to get through customs etc. So, we thought we'd just go to the registry office the day before or week before, whatever we can get any maybe renew our vows whilst in Barbados. So my question is (and I know you are going with family and friends), but would you bother renewing vows if just been married a few days? (it would be us and my sister and OH) - kind of feels like 'why bother', for us anyway. Think I just had my heart set on marrying there but feel like we'd be wasting time and money when already married IYSWIM.
P.S. Hen night sounds like it'll be fab - whatever is planned!0 -
We're seeing the registry office bit as just a formality with the renewal of vows as the wedding, we're actually going to give notice tomorrow morning! The legal wedding is 2 weeks before the RoV and we don't think it's silly or odd or anything bad! I know people who've been married on the sly a few days before a church blessing and they've loved it. Takes away the worry that the groom won't turn up at the 'Big' do! :rotfl:
If I were you I'd have a RoV on the cruise ship, how cool would it be to get married by the ship's captain?!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0
