Gosh darn it you've got me re-addicted to YouTube tutorials now Cinny! I like that hairstyle, think I might have a play with that this weekend! The lady who did that tutorial did another one about Chanel temporary tattoos... I must own these! They're 'only' £50!

Had a bit of a successful wedding weekend, it feels like things happens in fits and starts!
We went to Hobbycraft on Friday and got 3 round hat boxes in varying sizes so I can make a pretty 'post box' along the lines of these so any cards we get given at the party don't get lost. I'm not quite sure how to do it, but I'm sure I'll think of something!
I also managed to get some beach friendly shoes! Hurrah! I found them in a cheap shoe shop, they only cost £14.99 so if I change my mind later I haven't wasted too much! Not that I should change my mind, they're quite pretty! I'll post a picture tonight.
I posted this on Dinah's thread but not everyone will have seen it; OH's parents gave us a cheque for £5,000 on Friday so spend as we wish :j Once it clears on Thursday we're paying off the balance of the wedding, we've upgraded to premium economy too, along with everyone else flying out on the same flight as us so we have the extra luggage allowance and leg room! We were going to do it anyway but were struggling to find the money to do so! We're also going to start looking seriously as booking the honeymoon- want to do it before the VAT rise!
I've also been making some headway in my Out of Town bags, I found Tresemme hair masques in little sachets for 29p each in Home Bargains yesterday so I bought 10! I've got quite a collection of things now, Mum said she was going to ASDA today and would pick up some mini nail varnishes that she'd seen a while ago for not a lot each. I'm thinking that all of the goodies won't fit in little bags now and I may need to get something like a canvas bag and maybe decorate them with our names etc... I just need to find a good deal for about 20 bags! It's quite frustrating that I'm guesstimating how many bags I need to make right now; I wish I could know for certain so I have enough for everyone!
Oh and with the money from OH's parents we can think about getting a Steel Band for the party now, we'd kind of put that idea on the back burner since we had no money but we may be able to afford it now! Great! :TOvercome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Some photos of my recent finds!
Here are my 'beach' shoes, can't believe what a bargain they were!
Here are the boxes that I'm going to turn into a fancy post box for cards, need to find some nice fabric and figure out how to cover them properly like the pros on Etsy!
These are some mini buckets (about 4" tall) that my Mum bought, not sure what we'll be doing with them but they're cute and in keeping so they'll be used for something!
And I just found this by sheer luck this afternoon; I was looking in the Yorkshire Trading Co. for something else (Pirate themed toys for a float we're on at the weekend!) and saw this on my way out, it's just what I was after for my giant 'postcard' for the photo booth area, I wrote on it to make sure it photographed OK which it did! Only £3.99 which is good because I was going to pay twice that at Ryman's!
And here's a little pile of what I've got for the Out of Town Bags so far! Getting quite into finding all the little bits for them, so's Mum, she's forever texting me with ideas!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Ooh, where did you find those? Thinking of getting something like that to put wee potted flowers in as center pieces-come-favours!0 -
My Mum got them from Sainsbury's, I've had a look on the website but they're not on there. I think they're reduced to about £1.50ish... not too sure, she just turned up with them and she's going back for more!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Looking great, Birdie :T
Loving the shoes, they look perfect and the buckets are cool. I wonder if there's a tutorial for covering your hat boxes on youtube?:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Found a tutorial so I just need to get some nice fabric and get to work! I love how the warning at the bottom reminds you to remove the hat from the box first! :rotfl:Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. How about using some nice wall paper for part of the boxes, you could go into diy shops and get samples for nothing!0
