My Caribbean Wedding... and bringing the theme back to North Yorkshire!

I tried my dress on on Saturday and it's lovely and perfect! I thought I'd have to pay it for then but I don't have to pay until I take it home after I've had it taken up in December so that's good, gives me a little longer to get the money together! I got my headband too, it's very pretty and the fabric on the band has been dyed brown so it doesn't show up in my hair, I've got it at home so I'll take a photo to post tonight.

One thing we did decide is that my hair would look best up off my shoulders so I need to look for pretty 'up' hairstyles, it'll probably work out better than what I had in mind because it won't go as frizzy!

I went into Poundland and they had little hurricane lamps about 8" tall so I got 3x blue 3x green and 3 x orange for the party for £9! A cracking little bargain, I've not seen lamps for any less than £2 everywhere else!

I've made some headway in my little goody bags too, used my Mum's discount in Boots and got disposable razors for girls and boys, insect repellant wipes in individual packets, little polka dot emery boards and brightly coloured hair bobbles... and she paid for it all so that's even better!

You think Dinah?! Good idea to have your hair up though, will be cooler on your neck, tho don't forget the sunscreen! Glad you're pleased with the dress still

I have no idea what to do with my hair you know, everything seems either too formal or too casual! I'll have to dig out some magazines and look for inspiration!

Just got an e-mail from the dress shop owner; when I was in on Saturday I asked if anything had been noted on my file about a discount since her husband plays rugby with OH and he'd told him 'he'd sorted it' and she wasn't around for the ladies to ask so they made a note to check with her and her e-mail says that she's reduced my dress by £100 and that the ladies in the shop said that I looked fabulous in my dress! How great is that?! They're also getting hold of a swatch of the material for me so I can find some jewellery to match, apparently I need 'gold' pearls to go with the dress rather than the normal ones I have now so I can find the right colour ones when I've got my swatch!

OH text me earlier today to say that our wedding date has been confirmed as the 18th Feb, following my whining they made a special effort to get a definite date in place, how exciting to have an actual wedding day sorted! :j

Exciting about getting the date and dress discount. Those people seem lovely! And the head band is sooo pretty, so are the little lamps but not to the same degree!

I love the little storm lamp things, so cute! And exciting about the date and fab about the discount too! I really like that hairdo too, didn't realise there was such a thing as hair tutorials, might have to watch some myself! I sometimes go to the extent of plaiting my hair when it's wet to make it wavy but that's about it!
