My Caribbean Wedding... and bringing the theme back to North Yorkshire!

Well I cracked on yesterday and I've got a pretty cool looking rough draft of my invite (if I do say so myself!), I just need to do a bit of tweaking and print it off in colour to make sure it looks good!

I still need a snazzy title for my A-Z and I'm trying to think of a good RSVP by date, I asked OH but he just said ASAP! Errr, that's not very helpful!

Did you think of a title? Couldnt you just call it an A-Z with a map on or something, you know, like a road map A-Z. Does that make sense?

How you getting on with everything else?

I wanna see the invites, can you put them up when you've finished them?

I still don't have a snazzy title, my mock-ups just say 'Our Wedding A-Z'.

They're looking pretty good though, I'll post a couple of pictures of the in progress invites tonight so you can see what I've been working on!

LOL, I forgot to mention what OH said when he read the A-Z. He likes it but wasn't impressed by Q- imagine a really Yorkshire accent saying 'Cue Serra Serra? What the 'eck is that?!' I told him that if he can come up with a better suggestion I'll change it!

Thats hilarious! I doubt you can beat the Q you have at the mo, i certainly cant think of anything!

Thanks Lulu! I just showed them to my Mum who was impressed too so that's a relief!

Now I just have to find some good thick paper and a long reach stapler and I can make them all! My Mum reckons I should send them out in something nicer than an envelope, she's going to see how many empty contact lense boxes she can get from work that I can decorate, she's got this 'wonderful' idea of the boxes being decorated like little suitcases! I don't know how much time or talent she thinks I have!

I'm going to get the 'posh' paper after work today so I can print off my invites tomorrow, I asked nicely and my boss doesn't mind me using the work printer. I'll stay late after everyone has gone so no-one sees just how much I'm printing, or accidentally set something printing and steal some of my posh paper! I said, 'Oh, I'm only making 20 invites so it's not too much and I'm bringing my own paper so it's just a bit of ink I'll be using' but each invite uses 3 sheets of paper printed front and back! What they don't know won't hurt them!

I e-mailed the shop that sells the dress I'd like for my BMs but they won't guarantee that they'll have it in when my Mum goes over which is annoying, they also apologised for the incontinece! :eek: Hmmm, may have to rethink using that shop! :rotfl:

I still don't know whether or not one of my BMs is coming; she said that next week (as her OH is away this week) they'll sit down and figure out if they can afford it or not. I don't want to sound awful but they've had months to do that and I keep telling her that I need to know so I can give her measurements to my Mum in May so she can pick up dresses. She also said, 'Even if I can't come I still want to be your BM' ...err, I don't really get that! Think she means that she wants to organise my hen party and go to dress fittings etc but I'm really disappointed because I saw my 2 oldest friends at the weekend and I had thought that as they both live on their own and don't earn a fortune they wouldn't be able to come but they are both coming :T They're really excited and one of them has even opened an ISA to put savings in for it and the other bought her dress for the wedding when we were out shopping together! Because I didn't fully expect them to come I didn't ask them to be BMs and now I feel like I've lost an opportunity because I know that they'd love to be involved, although I explained that I asked my maybe/maybe not BM because she asked me to be hers and I felt a bit funny about not having her as my BM after she'd asked me and that I can barely afford to buy 2 dresses never mind any more!

Only 2 weeks until I go to London for my shoes! :j

Aww Birdie the invitations look *amazing*! How cool. They are so quirky and fun, and say a lot about you both and your cool style.

I just spotted on one of your pics about the vaccinations you need - do you need both Hepatitis A and B for Dominican? If it's just Hep A maybe you can clarify and save your guests a bit of money (Just noticed as I was a pincushion before going to uganda).
