Hey Woowoo just started reading your thread, and thought I would say hi
. I'm curious about you paying pennies into the Barclays - how did you do this as I would like to pay off mine in this way (among others) but the banks I have been to (Santander and Halifax to name two) have told me I have to bag them up so I have been saving all the change I find up. Thanks
Hi, thanks for reading.
If it's just been the odd 42p for example I literally just pay in over the counter into my account then use Internet banking to make the payment.
Even if I only had 98p in 1ps I would stick them in a bag and pay them in, they can't stop you it's all money no matter in what form!
Plus it's fun to annoy the banks whenever possibleLBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Cool. Is this a Barclays bank account or any of them? I had trouble with the banks I named and just gave up but it's annoying when they are making money out of me still on interest and I have money (pennies I know but still money) that can go in there.Debt at worst: £33000 (Feb 2011). I bank with Natwest and they have never given me any hassle. Don't take any nonsense from them, you have every right to pay money into your account, even if it is only pennies.

Definitely. I'll push them again. I'd rather it be in the bank than on me or stuck in a drawer somewhere with all the interest they are getting from me!! It's worth a goDebt at worst: £33000 (Feb 2011). Present debt: £25610 (Apr 2012)

With Lloyds I have to bag it but can put any amount in the bag, so long as the coins are sorted - and I'm the annoying person who stands and does that at the counterDebt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0

Lloyds are evil, I still hold them at least 25% responsible for my predicament!
Admittedly they didn't force me to spend the money, but did they have to make it so damm easy for me to spend £10,200 on nothing lol!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)
