Craftygranny - yup completely diabetic friendly, and its got allergy free nuts in too (Thats the only good thing about cyber cakes everyone can share)
  • Tomsmum - I've sent an email to Madabout Cards, thanks for the link to contact Nellie's direct, I will definately give that a go. I'm going to have a little play with the oval set before I go to bed, so will post the results in the morning. Thanks so much for your help.x

    Gemm

    - I went to the Papermill in Ashford the other week and got 3 massive boxes of white 300 gsm cardstock for £10 (I'd never been before, so can you imagine my excitement?). Muffins with butter and homemade strawberry jam? yum yum

OAP 1945 - that cake sounds lush, you best keep it out of The Wifes way, she won't be able to resisit that one.

    Back again..
It is a mammoth post this one, I have gone thru most of the pages again to double check I haven't missed anything.. I prob have so many apolopgies if I have... :o
Wanna b I had a brill week end ta, I went to the Dorchester for afternoon tea on Thursday... an unbelievable experience...that was a fantastic surprise... then went to Kent, then on Fri went in search of some of the craft shops on my list.. found one of them, Oyster Stamps in Rochester, I believe they had a stall in Harrogate, anyway, I am afraid to say, a few, well, 11 distressed inks fell in my basket.. but they were £3 each, a lot cheaper than I have seen anywhere else and no p&p... It is amazing how us crafters can justify our purchases...;)
I found another shop, Pickleberry Papercrafts which was lovely. 20% off K & Co at the mo.
OH was made a brew and he found it very entertaining listening to 3 women talking about crafts. He said it was like another language.. We stayed there about 2 hours!!! I just bought some K & Co papers... well it would be rude not to.. and flowers and HOTP artsy additions. all the stuff was in a sale. Then I discovered that in Cranbrook itself where we were staying there was an Aladin's cave of a shop where they sold absolutely everything crafty... So of course I had to visit and got some decoupage that was on sale... Then the last craft shop was visited in Royal Tunbridge Wells where I bought some more on sale decoupage sheets.
These were mainly for mens cards.
I did try to find another shop but we drove past it after it had closed and realised it had a closing down sale, unfortunately I didn't get there, but to be honest, I think I had done very well and didn't feel I could push my luck any further... On Saturday, I met up with DS1 who came from where he is at uni to meet us in London and spent the day with him, then oh and I went to see The Mousetrap that is in its 70 oddth year... it was fab..:D
Then yesterday, came home via Oxford which is somewhere I have not visited before, and really enjoyed padding round that too, so I have come back for a rest and to craft with my stash... :j
It is lovely visiting other parts of the country...
On the way back on the motorway, I passed the NEC sign and told the oh about you all going there this weekend. You will all have a fab time :D

Sorry to read that people have been suffering from bad headaches.. I suffer from them too and they can make you really miserable.
I used to work in an opticians, many moons ago, and whenever people had headaches and went to their doctors, they were immediately sent to an optician for an eye test to rule out the need for glasses/ change of prescription etc. Don't know if that has changed now? I have noticed that with the close work I am doing crafting my eyes get more tired and I know that I should get my eyes re checked.. hope everyone gets their headaches sorted quickly.
Rainmac Congrats on your walk with ds1.. I like the sound of that, walking...
You will have a brill busy week end.. Hope your friend gets the school sorted for her daughter. I am sure they will put strategies in place for her, she could maybe do with having a meeting with someone from the educational department and having a chat?
Thrifty How are things going at your end re seeing people about your son? Have the newspaper printed anything yet?
    Arty doll hello
Tiny The craft show sounds really good, I would go if I were you...
    OAP The cake sounds wonderrrrfuuulll..:D
Dawnteabag McArthur Glen have a website where you can give your e mail address and you can get a 10% off voucher and use it once, don't know if you have done that before, plus Papermill have a loyalty card that you can have stamped and eventually get some freebies or money off I can't remember..
Toms mom I know what you mean about 'I wish I had bought etc etc' i think that shop in Llandudno is great..
Lei Your use of the distressed inks is lovely, really effective..
I notice that J & C Creations has got a stall at the NEC they were in Leigh and the chap there wears a red fez so you can't miss him and he gave a demonstration on distressed inks.
Pepop Sorry to hear about your hubbie and the house.. something beter will turn up :)
Ali b Did you go to 'the stamping up' party?
Npsmama What a miserable time of it you have been having of it, hope you are all recovered now. It sounds really nasty.
Dragonllew The Nanny chook chook's card is lovely and the fan card is really unusual, I bet that was fun to do.
Paddingtondoo Hope they sort out what is wrong with your mil. Lovely cards on your blog..
You would have been made up in the hotel we were sataying in... on the bed when we arrived there was a teddy bear and on the label it said that it was staying with a foster family and would we like to adopt it?
I thought it was a lovely idea.. they must have done it in all the rooms.. :)

Also, don't know if this has been put on the thread or not, but this is quite a nice site..
newtons-law.com on google there is one that says summer shirt, that is a good one and on the one underneath that says newtons-law.com/newton that is really lovely.
Hope I have put in the right words?
    There are freebies on it...
Right bed for me now.. nite nite

DTB - pleased to hear '&son' is a little happier but sorry it seems like you'll have more explaining to do.

    Early morning shift here :coffee:

Wow! we are going to have a magnificently sooper dooper cake day on Friday, the seven tier cake sounds gorgeous! All those cakes, better get the Rennies ready! We can scoff to our heart's content.

Now, I'm thinking ahead here. I'll leave the cake dive until we've eaten enough and perhaps just do a quick back flip in the tucked position from the bottom layer. Wouldn't want to do a belly flop after all that cake, it'll go everywhere.:D

Thinking of you today, Rusty and hope everyone else has a good day.
