  • Hello & welcome Bitsy Beans.I definately think the die cutters are worth the money. I have a Sizzix purely because I like to do other crafty things and wanted a machine that would cut more than paper/card. A lot of the ladies on here have Cuttlebugs which they love. I guess it's all down to what you want to do with the die cutter.

Hi! Bitsy Beans. if you like texture (embossing folders) and different cut-out on cards then go for a cutting machine. If you do decide to go that way then you can't go wrong with the cuttlebug. This lady, Ikki, is so knowledgable about the 'bug', have a scan through her blog to see what you can do. I bought a die cutter because my scissor cutting is appalling ( thank heaven for die cut decoupage) I used to have the Big-Shot and then gave it to my grandaughters as they enjoyed it so much. I then bought a Wizard machine as I liked the look of the Nestabilites it can make a difference to your card making. There are lots of lovely people on this thread that will answer any questions you might have.

Hi Bitsy Beans - I have a cuttlebug and wouldn't be without it - although the dies can be a bit expensive as there's always just one more that you just have to have.

Hope everything goes as well as can be expected tomorrow Rusty
Crafty JuJu have you been checked for sinusitis (sp?)
Gemma - make sure you get well for Friday we have the same thing with work here but everyone seems to get referred for occupational health meetings - 1 girl had only had 4 days off in a year and coz she was off 3 of those times with an infection in her wisdom teeth she had to go see them - loads of us have "targets" for sickness even diabetics and 1 cancer patient in remission.

Wifey what cake shall I bring on Friday? I have the day off to wait in for DDs new bed to be delivered hopefully my glitterpot order will have arrived so I squirrel it all away while OH is away and then play tomorrow night and all day Friday. Thought I had PMd you to let you know the ribbon bag arrived Friday but can't see that I sent it Sorry! I put my sorry ribbon stash in it on Sunday but now need to buy some more to fill it :rotfl:. Left it on the stairs for 5 mins and the cat was having a field day

Rainmac - your ATC arrived today - thank you for the lovely papers and images - you are very very naughty.

I now have an order for a ruby wedding card - not made one of them before - off to find a sketch for some inspiration :)
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p

Wanna B Rich - I've ordered the oval ones of those Nellies - it'll be interesting to see if they are different from the others I've got - pretty much do the same job though!

Rusty - hope all goes as well as it can do tomorrow and you give the Grannybasher a good send off.

I have the oval ones (they're the ones I've been cursing today). I'll pop back on later and let you know how I get on, the complete group die cut is lovely, just hope I haven't messed it up by trying to cut it apart! lol

Bitsy beans Hello .. Sorry can't help, I have a cuttlebug not a Sizzix..
Wanna b, Mad - Frog, Toms mom, Marg, OAP. Glittermum wonderful cards on all your blogs.. :D
JHB I am gutted for you that a person has removed your beautiful box and had the cheek to put their cards with yours Grrrr!!!
Princesspoppypop The bag you made is loverrrly and your jewelry....
Dawnteabag I am sorry to read about your ex b-i-l. It seems to be one thing after another for you at the mo.. I hope your son is ok. hugs for you both.. Many congrats on your run tho, well done.. To be honest, from your foto of the before and after, you don't look any different, apart from having a medal around your necks... I would have been lying down with my feet above my head with an oxygen mask on my face... you must be very fit..
Gem 85 Poor you.. hope the ant b's kick in soon.. atleast they will have time to work before you go off to nec.. have a chill day tomorrow you have permission from the doc, he told you... :D
Craftyjuju your niece is really sweet and cute, you just want to hold them and cuddle them don't you?
    Sweet sock bunnies too..
The Wife Congrats on being read out on c&c did you get a card sent to you by the way?
I was wondering if I can come on the cake eating evening to comiserate (sp) that we are not going to the nec? Trouble is I may not be that welcome, I gave up chocolate for Lent, (only 12 more days to go, not that I am counting) so it will have to be a non choc cake I am afraid....
Ponr When on my break, I got talking to a woman who was trained to demonstrate Ranger products and I asked her about distressed inks and blenders etc.. Apparently, the blender can be used with foam for distressed inks and with felt for alcohol inks...
Some one has possibly mentioned this before, and please forgive me if they have mentioned it or asked, but will you have ways and means of getting over the prob of if you are stopped by customs or such in the airport? I don't know the facts or fugures of how much you are allowed to bring in the country, but just thought I would mention it, hope you don't mind?...
Self imposed crafty stash ban: started again 22/8/10 1 whole month stash free!
I must not buy stash, I must not buy stash, I must not buy stash! :o
  • Hassy - forgot to ask, sorry, did you have a good weekend and find plenty of nice craft shops?

Rusty thinking of you hope tomorrow goes ok.

Dawnteabag hope &son is bearing up ok, i know when my nephew died a couple of years ago it was very hard to explain to my kids why it had happened.

Wanna be rich perhaps we can organise something for november's nec

Gemm hope you are feeling better soon.

Bitsy beans another vote for the cuttlebug here I use it far more than I thought I would.

have loaded a couple more cards on my blog tonight, 1 is the spanish themed one I was asking about thanks to Dawnteabags suggestion of a fan card thats what i did.:)
  • Dragonlew - I'd definately like to go in November. Hopefully the travel lodge will release some more £9 rooms, will keep an eye out and give you the heads up. For some reason the Birmingham rooms don't go that fast, hence the reason I'm off up there in the summer hols for a few days. Personally I love central Birmingham fab shopping and nightlife and then if I can time it right the NEC:D
