Thank you.:D Mine have a pale grey cutting side and it was that I was going to cut, then I looked at this and got really confused. Right off to take a few deep breaths and cut the oval frame. There could be tears before bedtime!!!

I was trying to find that link for you as that's how I found out how to cut mine. Glad you found it. I'm sure you'll be fine. Have fun.
  • JHB - I am sad to be leaving my OH here and I have kinda got used to being here but I will be glad to go home to see my family and nieces. Also will be nice to have good public transport and not have to pay to use cashpoints or pay to receive incoming calls on a mobile!!!!! I weighed my bags and they are underweight. Still have a few bits to pack but not much!!
Flourgirl - can't believe people thought £1 was a rip off for cards. It's crazy that they will pay £2 for a mass produced boring card from a shop and run the risk of someone else sending the same card and not want to get a unique handcrafted card for £1.
melissa75 - Alcatraz was amazing. I wanted to go when I was here in November but didn't get the chance. There is a free audio tour for the cellhouse and it includes sound effects and original inmates and officers talking on it and is very interesting, The views of San Fran skyline from Alcatraz were breathtaking and we were lucky enough to have very good weather. If you visit again I can highly recommend a visit to Alcatraz. We went up the Coit Tower as well and the views were fantastic up there also!!

Dragonlew - I'm in Eastbourne perhaps we should negotiate a corporate MSE bunnies rate for the Travel Lodge:D

    Peppop - lovely card.

PONR - you best get shopping then - there's an excuse for more stash if ever I heard one:rotfl:

Right - these b@@**&^ Nellie Snellens (told you there would be tears before bedtime). I've tried cutiing one with my craft knife and it's having none of it! The base is solid and covered with a pale grey foam and I'm scared of messing the die up now,. I'm starting to think that mine aren't s'posed to seperate. I have dies MDF001 (cirlce), MDF002(square), MDF003 (oval) and MDF004 (rectangle). Can anyone advise me what I'm doing wrong or is it simply that they aren't supposed to seperate?? This picture of a card produced using my die suggests that they do seperate..........Help:(:(

evening girlies, thanks so much for all your sympathy, its lovely to know that people care, when you work somewhere like I do you end up thinking people dont give a carp if youre ill xx

I ended up taking a half-day holiday at work as by lunchtime I couldn't stand it any more, its gotten so much worse since this morning. managed to get in at the docs this aftenoon and he gave me a lecture for going to work in the first place. he's said I've got a temperature, and an ear and throat infection. on antibiotics for a week now and I'm under strict instructions not to go in tomorrow - he said if my work give me grief they are to phone him up for a word :rotfl: going to try and choke down some chicken soup for dinner, I am normally a real teapot and have about 10 cups a day so I am really missing that as I can't swallow very well! still, I am determined to be at the NEC, even if OH has to drive me and we have to leave early afternoon (he's on a late shift that day) rant over, I promise not to moan any more about it :D

my crafty contribution - with regards to the nellies dies, I was really confused with my first set too! Ididn't expect them to come all stuck together and nearly peeled the label off until glittermum kindly advised me that I was meant to cut them apart with a craft knife ;) lol I was really stumped at first though!
  • OK - think I've sussed the Nellies - found this. So it looks like mine don't seperate, will try in a while once I've got the kids in bed.

rainmac - Thankyou but don't you worry I will make it Friday even if I have to be drugged up all day with painkillers. My banging headache has come back this evening, right across the front of my head, my nose is totally bloked so think its something to do with that, but I WILL be ok for Friday :D

    THE-WIFE - how was the cake? :)

PepPop - honest the paint tin falling on the floor was an accident :A didn't manage to get any more in there done today but am going to try & get the woodwork done tomo, well started anyway!

Thankyou everyone for your kind comments on my blog, I'm off to blog hop now to see what you've all been making today :T

I thought about posting a separate thread for this but thought you lovely ladies would be able to help.
I love making cards (well all things "crafty" really) and I've always had an eye on something like the Sizzix die cutter. But what's put me off is the price :o Are die cutters worth it? Any recommendations?

    Many thanks :D
