  • Evening all - just having a quick catch-up:

Sammr85 – I hope you start to investigate your headaches. An eye appointment sounds like a good place to start. Well done on being £1 up.

Wanna-b – Thanks for the digis link. Yip, my spending has gone up too since joining this thread but it is soooo worth it.

Craftygranny – 3am start, ouch. Hope he has a good journey.

Rainmac – Ooooh, I was looking at Housemouse stamps the other day.

Ali-b – I've got the spendy elves stuffed into a box with the lid on tight but.... they are so battling to get out to buy me some BG papers

Tiny – ooohhhhh, wish my oh would give me £100 to spend on stash

Gemm – glad your Scor-pal arrived

Rusty – so glad the funeral doesn't clash with the NEC. Have a lovely day at the NEC and I'll be thinking of you next Wednesday

PONR – craft shopping in the US – oooohhhh

    Bunbun – love the cross-stitching

Sorry if I have missed anyone. Right I'm heading for my pjs, a glass of red wine and a blog-hop - in that order :rotfl:

  • evening everybody. writing with tired eyes tonight as my DS had me up in the night. He had a wobbly tooth, and came in holding it in his hand at 2:45 this morning bless him so excited. Then came back again 20 minutes later to say he couldn't find it where he thought he had put it - kids, dont you just love them!

well had a bit of a play with the stamps that my friend lent me today. Quite liked the results but just wanted to ask everyone a couple of questions. Do you use an ink pad to ink the stamp up with or pens as I understand you can use a brush style pen instead of an ink pad? I wondered if people found it was neater to do it with a pen, as I found with the ink pad I was getting a bit around the edge of the stamp. Also what is the difference between promarkers and brush pens? or are they the same thing. (sorry for the long ramble hopefully you will understand what I mean)

Just a quickie from me - I have an awful headache - who said exercise was good for your health - I've never had so many!

Had to come on thoug to say thanks to CraftyGranny for Tom's surprise which arrived today - he's proper made up and is going to take it into school with hime tomorrow.

Also, just a reminder that my blog candy closes on Sunday and you might be lucky as there don't seem to be many people interested for some reason - must have done something wrong. Link to my blog is in my profile

Twinkle - were you putting the ink to the stamp or the stamp to the ink, IYKWIM? I find it helps to place the stamp face up and dab the ink pad over it, and rarely get ink around the edges doing it that way. I've got Whispers brush markers, but rarely use them now. I tried using them on stamps, but it didn't really work for me. They're good for colouring to get a watercolour effect if you use them with a paintbrush and water, and have a fine nib as well for outline work. Promarkers are different in that they have more solid nibs and are better at blending with no brushstroke marks.

Hassy - hope you have a lovely weekend.
Craftygranny - hope your baby has a safe trip, and that you get to go and visit him soon!
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)

Hi everyone, I have been a bit naughty and have ordered a few goodies on line, hoping it wont arrive Monday as that's the only day next week OH will be home from work before me

Melissa75 I have some large roses from wild orchid crafts (red and white) if you would like me to send you some then send me a PM

    Sharon Welcome to the thread

I have tried to emboss a sentiment tonight but it looks rubbish, the ink I have is ink it up, I put some clear embossing powder on, cleared it off then heated it up, but it didn't work :( does anyone have any tips?

Also does anyone use any twinkling H20's? and are they any good?

Some distressing inks have also just slipped into my basket, not that I have a clue how to use them :p
