I've just logged on and had the most terrible shock - no email telling me of new posts on this thread since I logged off last night . Well, I just couldn't believe it, not at the rate everyone on here chats :rotfl: . I came on and there were four pages of new posts, must have been a blip in the system!

Hassy I might be too late, I think you signed off earlier, but I didn't buy very much in Llandudno, only spent £15. I got two plastic boxes for my 12 x 12 papers/card stock, a pack of 72 6 x 6 Christmas papers -Winter Wonderland by Dovecraft for £1.50 - and some matching sticky ribbons and glittery brads, and a pad of A5 Some Bunny Loves You papers to go with my Candyfloss and Marshmallow stamps. There were hundreds of 12 x 12, 8 x 8 and 6 x 6 paper packs at bargain prices but mainly Christmas ones. The shop wasn't too crowded today, it's only the second time I've been and it was packed last time. Of course, after we had started the drive back home I was thinking "I wish I'd bought ... such and such ... while I was there! Have a nice time away.

Sammr85 Sorry to hear about your headaches. As Thrifty says it might be an idea to get checked out by your GP or optician if you haven't already done so. I get them all the time, have had for years. Mentioned it to my GP and she called them migraineous headaches (they're not migraines as I don't get the visual disturbance or nausea/sickness, just head pain) she just said "Take paracetamol" so I said I had been doing but I'm getting them regular and taking them every day, she just said "Don't take more than it says on the pack"!!!!! I find Solpadeine works for me but no longer buy the brand name. Boots do their own Paracetamol and Codeine Extra (they also contain Caffeine, same as Solpadeine, which is what I think makes the difference for me) which I take for the really bad ones. If they're not total head bangers I take one Co-codamol (own brand from Tesco, Asda etc) and one paracetamol with caffeine tablet (from Aldi or Wilko's) so it's halving the codeine and caffeine dose and that works OK.

I was up early and back quite late so I'll do a quick blog hop and then I'm off to bed.

There are some beautiful cards on everyone's blogs, I'm leaving comments when I visit. I don't think I'm a follower of everyones blog yet but am adding more when they're mentioned.

RE the distress inks, yes Tim makes it look soooo easy, I love how he makes the edges of stuff look 'cloudy' with ink, and its all blended so perfectly. I tried it just using an inkpad once but you could see all the lines of the edge of the inkpad and it looked terrible :D hope you get on ok with your blender and inks and do show us the results!!

Oooh I love the distress inks but only have two at the moment (Walnut Stain and Worn Lipstick). I love the effect you can get with the blending tool such as on this Christmas card I made:

I blended round the edges of everything to give depth! They are definitely on my shopping list for the NEC but I can't decide what colours to get lol x

That looks lovely, I have the Worn Lipstick, Tea Dye and the blue one which I think is called Cracked China or maybe Broken China!!!! Can't wait to use them now.

  • evening everybody. writing with tired eyes tonight as my DS had me up in the night. He had a wobbly tooth, and came in holding it in his hand at 2:45 this morning bless him so excited. Then came back again 20 minutes later to say he couldn't find it where he thought he had put it - kids, dont you just love them!

well had a bit of a play with the stamps that my friend lent me today. Quite liked the results but just wanted to ask everyone a couple of questions. Do you use an ink pad to ink the stamp up with or pens as I understand you can use a brush style pen instead of an ink pad? I wondered if people found it was neater to do it with a pen, as I found with the ink pad I was getting a bit around the edge of the stamp. Also what is the difference between promarkers and brush pens? or are they the same thing. (sorry for the long ramble hopefully you will understand what I mean)

Hiya - I have a set of the brush pens and I used them at Christmas when I was making tags and I really liked them. Nice and easy to use and easy to clean off of the stamps. I liked that you can use several colours and I found that I got an even image with them. I was planning to get some more but didn't get around to it!! I have bright colours I think. I have not used the pens for colouring in though as was not sure if you could use them for that!!!!

I have a full set of whispers brush pens too . I have used them with stamps and they are okay they were actually quite good for stamping with but i could never get the hang of colouring with them. Someone i think it was pinklady mel did a tutorial on colouring with them and she did a fab job. i'll see if i can find a link.

Well went to manchester airport at 3.30 am and got back just after 6 am minus my second eldest son. Feels strange him not being here. Last time he was away for a while was when he was in the raf.

Going to try and sleep for an hour now . Back later.

Sorry I haven't been around, and haven't read all your posts yet but we had some very sad news on Tuesday evening.

My lovely neice's partner Scott passed away quietly at home. They sent him home from Papworth for a few days, and I think they knew he was near the end. Its so sad and so tragic that someone so young (25years old) and so lovely has gone. He was so poorly I doubt if he would have survived if a new heart had been offered, its just 5 years since he had the last transplant and everyone of those days has been precious to my niece. Scott was a lovely young man and when all the pain has eased Helen will have some beautiful memories of the short time they had together. God Bless xxx
