Queen...you've got at least one set of fashion sales before then: I'd start thinking about it but not worrying...I made a dress for a wedding of very good friends that started to disintegrate on the long train journey to the wedding, I had to get out of the train in a city I didn't know find somewhere that sold corsages and litterally pin it together with flowers. I got loads of compliments....lol.
Beginning or end of sept? Beginning will still be warm0 -

I'll have to keep my eye out in the charity shops over the summer for a smart style dress grrr hopefully I'll be able to find something that I can wear more than once

I got my dress for the wedding off ebay- I wanted something I could wear again too which is why you cant go wrong with a little black dress:D**"Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin."**0 -
My guess is, as its a family wedding, its a good time to met them: the pressure will well and truly be off you everyone focused on the bride and members of family they don't see very often. All you have to do is keep quite quiet, smile loads and stay sober and you'll be great.0

You know, I know this is rally unpopular on MS, bt I really think you can: black really is inappropriate, though its very commonly done now. As a first meeting with his family I'd play it really safe with etiquette etc. Even people in mourning shouldn;t rally wear black to wedding,I wouldn't let it upset me, but I would notice if someone wore black to mine.
