Me and darling boyfriend have found an apartment in Liverpool right in the city centre and will be moving early April...very scary stuff but exciting at the same time....so I've got about a month to get organised and pack up my Nottingham life to start one in Liverpool. I'll be honest, I'm struggling at the lack of charity shops up there, hopefully I haven't been looking in the right places and there are actually loads!

Hurrah, glad you got it all sorted!

There are two charity shops in the city centre and that's it :( Get the bus out to somewhere like Allerton Road though - there are about 9 within 5 mins walk of each other down there.

I'm also deciding to do a wardrobe audit again...I'm hanging on to a lot of ''sensible clothes'' which I never where, aren't me and could do someone else some good. some internet friends and I are trying to get together for one of our number to have a holiday with her disabled kids, and selling off our unnesessary gear seems a good way to raise the dough. :)
    .

Wow thats so nice and generous of you all :)

British heart foundation and oxfam I've seen in the city and that's it...I don't mind getting a bus though so thanks for the tip :D, I'll have to get my AtoZ out to look where allerton road is though (yes I've bought an AtoZ of liverpool so I can find my way around the place!!:rotfl:)

  • Question for you ladies...I've got a sewing machine that I never use but don't want to get rid of, but I'm in two minds of whether I should keep it or not when I move. I can use it but I'm not very good, I'd love to find the time to practice and get better at making/customising clothes...but I can't see it happening for a while...do you think it's one of those things that should just keep anyway? I wonder if I'd really regret it in the future if I get rid

Yup - and the BHF is new, it only used to be Oxfam and that's mostly a bookshop anyway.

And A-Z's are fantastic :) Get exploring, it's a lovely place!

Thanks, but she's an MSEer a good egg and sometimes life just isn't fair...so us making what is a comparatively tiny effort is less nice than. it s...human?

The thing that makes me laugh is its the gang on the debate board who started this ball rolling, but people think we're all mean...
we've had to move it from MSE because it breaks rules though. :o

Glad to hear you are having a good day Nikki.

What type of leggings are you looking for Magype?- I have some plain black ones and some lacy style from Primark as well as Jeggings. I agree that this thread makes you think about trying different things to normal.

Hi Queen of NMW, Good luck with the move. I like the teal tights your wearing and it gives the whole outfit a lift. As well as charity shops out of the city centre there are quite a few cheap shops in the centre- go in places like St. Johns (although it may have changed since I was there 4 years ago!)

I'm not getting rid of mine. I'm going to have lessons on it one day. I know if I get rid, I'll never replace, because something else will always be more important.

I do mst repairs etc by hand though, the machine really does my nut...threading the wretched bobbin, tensions and just threading the machine. :o
