I'm back, and pretty tired now ! Did quite a bit of digging down on the allotment - I needed to work of my burger king lunch
:rotfl:. What with shopping this morning and digging this afternoon, I think I've just about squeezed the last bit of energy out helping DD to put away her new clothes.
daydreambeliever, I lurveeeeeeeeeeeee that coat !
I don't think I'll be able to catch up with today's posts (I've quickly skim read but not a lot when in) so forgive me for not mentioning anyone or missing anything important !
Goan, I can't wait to see your outfit for the pub crawl ! I'm still drooling over the maxi dresses in Wallis - I can hear them calling to me "come and buy me, you know ya wanna !!!"
I was thrilled to see their window display was varying shades of orange and since I wore my orange ensemble today, I was feeling rather smug.
DH thinks I've got another fella(It's ok, it's a running joke. He knows I lurve him to bits). I said it's my mid-life crisis manifesting :rotfl:. Actually he's really pleased I'm happy with how I look at the moment and how much of an effort I'm making with my appearance. I've always been very self-conscious but that seems to be disappearing by the day thanks you all you lovely ladies .
Sorry, I'm waffling now. I'm going to go and grab a nice glass of wine and watch DH cook me clam chowder.

It is actually amazing how much this thread and the blog has opened my eyes to the possibilities in clothing... much of what I bought today I would have dismissed three months ago because it 'wouldn't suit' me - like the floral baby-doll dress and the pink lace skirt. I wouldn't even have tried them on.
I've failed in my quest to find a pair of leggings I like, true, but the search continues."All cruelty springs from weakness" - Lucius Annaeus SenecaPersonal pronouns are they/them/their, please.
I'm intolerant of wheat, citrus, grapes, grape products and dried vine fruits, tomato, and beetroot, and I am also somewhat caffeine sensitive.0 -
That's my only advice to everyone really magpye. Try on something you wouldn't usually..as most of the time you may be suprised..0

hello ladies...
I'm finally back from my various travels (london, then liverpool, then london and now home!) My outfits have been quite boring this week because minimal packaing for travelling, plus limited access to internet so no blog updates for over a week! Have taken a pic of outfit today which I will post on blog in a bit.
Black long sleeved jersey polo neck - zara sale
Jade short sleeved jerseypolo neck - new look sale (layered over the long sleeved one)
Black primark skirt via Daisy
Teal tights Peacocks
Blue office ankle boots
pearl earrings, string of pearls, peacock feathers clipped in hair
Have really missed you all and missed reading your blogs, I'm not going to attempt to catch up on about 80/90 pages because it would take me a week!
Me and darling boyfriend have found an apartment in Liverpool right in the city centre and will be moving early April...very scary stuff but exciting at the same time....so I've got about a month to get organised and pack up my Nottingham life to start one in Liverpool. I'll be honest, I'm struggling at the lack of charity shops up there, hopefully I haven't been looking in the right places and there are actually loads!*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150 -
Wahoo queen how exciting0

town was so so busy
didn't buy much, some baking bits and things in paperchase
no yellow tights or topshop necklace
feeling a bit sad now as literally turned blue with cold despite layers and layers which caused concern among strangers at the bus stop
so feel....pathetic and vulnerable but overall had a lovely time with my mummy0 -
Big hugs daisy...at least what you didn't spend you can save for another time
Am loving the asos top by the way, it's a new fave
xx

boooo- to no yellow tights- I'm convinced theres probably none out there I might as well be searching for the holy grail. I always have a knack of wanting something I can't get, would grey tights dye yellow????? does anybody know???
Good to have you back Queenie- congrats on the new flat0 -
It is colder today.
I felt grim today, and my dh joined the muffin brigade making muffins for some friends for breakfast he did a great job, adapting a recipe I have for honey/yogurt muffins to using rhubarb yogurt, cinnamon, and....instead of the required bicarb, which I had ust used on the carpets this week....baking soda. He added sugar though, saying i wasn't right to bake without sugar.....
I was very impressed with the result.
Tonight I'm better and experimenting with chocolate making (I've been asked if I can for an event and I don't see why I shouldn't be able too, with practice, but its torture not tasting the practice!). I make basic chocolate, like mints and dipped peels/fruits, but I'm having great fun with the fillings for proper mould chocolates....just trouble with the chocolat thickness on the moulds atm....
I've been in a mucky tracksuit, then an old evening dress most of today.
I'm also deciding to do a wardrobe audit again...I'm hanging on to a lot of ''sensible clothes'' which I never where, aren't me and could do someone else some good. some internet friends and I are trying to get together for one of our number to have a holiday with her disabled kids, and selling off our unnesessary gear seems a good way to raise the dough.
So, as I wander around in my old evenin dress making chocolates and feeling abit queasy I find I'm wearing a terifically me outfit. The evening dress is yellow, and is a house dress because the chiffon over layer is a bit ragged. I'm barefoot, and aproned (beige with pink flowers) and I felt too poorly for make up earlier, but wanted to ''play later'' so I have the remains of some lip gloss and some red blusher on, I look a little consumptive tbh. I do I look like the mad cat lady left at the alter, but DH just said ''I love that you still dress up, like a little girl, we'll be kids for ever, won't we?'' and you knw, I think we will. )
enjoy the rest of the weekend girls.0 -
