  • Thanks Goanmad and Happy, but I must admit that I'm still a bit slobby round the house :o.

Daydream- you look fab, aren't we all a bit slobby around the house especially if we're not going anywhere - we can't be fabulous all the time ha ha I'd spend all day in my pj's if I could
  • Mommyme, I was just looking at your blog and I think go with what you feel best in. I wear glasses myself and I don't like them. I think I look way prettier without them, but as my daughter pointed out: that's probably because I can't see myself as well without them! :rotfl:

There's a lot of navy around just now and especially with the french sailing theme in fashion as well. So I recently bought a blue/white striped tee from h&m and a blue crochet type wrap top from monsoon with 3/4 sleeves.
My problem is that I dont have navy trousers (and at size 16 I couldn't get away with white trousers esp in the current weather here!) so i wore the 2 tops to work yesterday with black trousers but not sure how well that worked.
So my question is - what would you wear a navy top with??

I've been away for a couple of days and can't catch up, I'm drawing a line in the sand and starting from here!
Jaggyjim - Would you consider red, I love it with nautical stripes. Grey also works well. I'm not keen on black with navy tbh, and white trousers have to be at least a good flattering fit and very importantly never see though!

Hello all..just got home phew..soo tired, had a crazy day, morning of guides training day, then 36 exit surveys at a post office in town, which thankfully was rly busy so didn't take too long..then went to get my new headlight bulb, petrol and a heap of baking ingredients, so am about to start baking!
Off to the shops again tomorrow, so will take back all the things I need to from last week..and more baking probably
    and maybe time for sleep..

j, have fun at the allotment! I'm trying not to be too envious. ;)

Girls, thanks for all the good wishes - I think it worked, the numeracy test was well simple - early primary school stuff. I did take the assessment supervisor aside and explain that I might possibly take longer than expected, but I finished well within the time limit. The numeracy tests I've been taking online to prepare have been horrendous, so I'm relieved. Waiting to hear about next stage interviews now.

retro, it's supposed to affect about 4% -6% of the population, isn't it? Sometimes I have really bad days, like when I estimated my DH was holding up 11 fingers! All part of my idiosyncratic 'charm' I suppose.

    I ended up wearing:

Grey velvet and sequin Kookai skirt (via eBay 99p)
Purple low cut 3/4 sleeve t-shirt (Dotty P)
Grey zigzag tights (they're actually Ethel Austin not Asda as I claimed yesterday)
Black Sunrise Belle Et Mimi heels (Barratts)
Wooden heart long necklace (gift from lovely friend)

Afterwards I went into Ethel Austin and scored four pairs of tights, and then into Dotty P's because there was a big obnoxious SALE sign in the window (and I am psychologically incapable of passing a sale.) Bought a dress, a top, and three skirts. Oh dear! At least they were all reduced. :o

Yes and apparently around 70 odd% of them are men lol See we are just being different and bucking the trend lol. On my bad days I have trouble with telephone numbers I just cant seem to look at a phone number then press the right buttons on the phone...thank god for mobiles with numbers stored! I cant remember the sequence of my mums number sometimes and shes the one person other than OH I phone the most.

Im glad it went well and your outfit sounds great!

You dont have to go with all the nautical colour at once...maybe get some nice wide leg navy trousers with a high waist, tuck your stripey t into that and then put on a silky red scarf tied at the side of your neck if you want the red element?

Ok am hopefully going to update the blog now...though Im sure some other distraction will come up!

I have not done at all well on this no black challenge as today has been totally slobby (jeggings, black t and slouchy knitted grey waistcoat thingy) oh and fluffy ugg type slippers lol.....but I have decided to extend it a little and make next week colour week! I have more than enough things to wear and enough tights to do it so just got to get that ironing done lol
