    Morning girls,

I have a interview-!!!-assessment today at twelve and don't have a clue what sort of thing to wear to it. Help? I don't want to wear any black if I can help it, as I'll get covered in white cat fluff before leaving the house and that looks a bit unprofessional. :D Would a skirt be okay - I don't have any pencil style skirts, just skater/dancer style. Nor do I own any shirts as I have problems fitting 'the girls' into shirts and blouses. :rotfl: Oh, I am unprepared.

Also since this is a literacy and numeracy test, should I disclose that I'm actually in the process of being referred for psychological testing for dyscalculia, or is that going to hurt my chances before I even started? Ye gods I am nervous about this now.

Good luck try not to stress too much (easy said lol). I have similar problems with numbers and was diagnosed with dyscalculia (or number blindness as its more commonly known) a few years ago. To be honest its never hurt my chances of getting a job, just the same as if you have dyslexia shouldnt (which I have always wondered that I may have that too as you can tell from my typing I get my letters mixed up quite often but Im ok with reading so have never persued it...think it may be because my typing is crap lol)...its a condition many people have. I used to work in a business to business collections department so worked with figures every day. I find mine only crops up if I think about what Im doing too much if that makes sense? I would be open and honest about it, if they dont hire you then thats their own tough luck!

I only struggle with mine now that my boys are older as I cant help them with their maths homework...English yes Im a whizz the same as I was at school but they know not to ak me when it comes to Maths, it gets me down sometimes but they ask their dad instead. Like dyslexia theres a lot of knowledge about it now where there wasnt when I was a kid and it used to baffle my teachers as to why i excelled at other subjects but was so poor at Maths (i even went to a Summer camp to try and improve- haha geek!)

ETA with regards to the maths and english test I find they tend to take an average score of this so you may need to get a 75% mark to pass but you may get 100% in the English test but not so good in the maths but it will average it out...can you tell I have taken a LOT of these in the past? lol

I have never met another person with number blindness so its good to know (in a morbid kind of way) that Im not the only adult out there with this! I do think theres a lot more out there that just think they are bad at Maths and numbers but really have the condition.

Edited (again doh) if you want to know anything regarding it just ask I know theres a few good website (think they are moslty American though) that have some good information on it :)

Welcome siaoeh. The black dress is gorgeous- I prefer the boots, no sure about shrug/ pashmina options- go for whatever you will feel comfortable in.

Good luck with the interview Magype- I'm sure you will look fab and wow them.

I'd just love to be one of those people who somone goes 'oh I love her style'. Is that fickle?
I don't think so. It sounds like what I think and the main reason I joined this board. I think its about finding your style and hopefully there are others out there who think I like what she's wearing, but to also feel happy with your style.

Thanks everyone for an insight into your wardrobes. I always find myself wearing the same few outfits- need to think about what I actually own and how I can wear it (and make a list of what I 'need' to buy to go with what I've already got).

Sold a couple of items on ebay, so can put this money towards building a better wardrobe of clothes and accessories in the longer term. Haven't done ebay in years so was pleasantly surprised that some shoes I'd not worn in ages/ at all made a bit of money.

Still feeling grotty today but had a trip out this morning and bought some purple tights- I'm going to try the tights layering thing that Goanmad introduced to me.

Have a good day everyone x

I found an item of clothing in a charity shop - this never happens!!! :D

It's a fab pair of white tights with flower detailing on - Chelsea Girl, original packaging (does this count as vintage? :rotfl:) 69p. Hurrah!

I also reverted to type and bought 9 books :o

ETA - Enjoy your shopping trip Daisy - don't forget your challenge!

    Well done, Alex :T!

Ha! Chelsea Girl, remember it from my youth. Officially any clothing over 15 years old is vintage and I'm sure Chelsea Girl became River Island at least 20 years ago. Mind you they did relaunch some of the old logo stuff last summer.
