No secret Kandi, weight watchers lol. Thank you for the kind comments :D. I'm trying to lose weight mainly for health reasons (mum has arthiritis and dad is undergoing cancer treatment). I have lost weight before and did it for all the wrong reasons and ended up looking very ill and gaunt. So, this time I'm going by size and comfort. I still eat naughty things ! lol

Daisy, I feel the cold too (despite all my 'natural' layers). I tend to 'don' my fluffy dressing gown if I get too cold, it whips off quick enough if anyone knocks at the door :o.

My problem is that I work in a male dominated industry and can't really wear nice stuff for work as I can sometimes be out on constructions sites, and a pretty skirt don't go well with safety boots and a hard hat :) - that's my excuse anyway.

OK, I oftn work outside with animals...and getting practical and safe clothes is hard. Jeans and tops is a good way forward.under boots my favourtie is a pair of knee/over the the socks which can be folded down over, to make me smile, add a flash of girl. If you can wear jewelery (with lots of my animals jobs the most I wear is a pair f studs in my ears) that helps, as is just being well turned out. Tops can be practical and girly.. I used to live in those thermal style twinsets with jeans/breeches.

I'm also now loving my jeggings...and as I say, I'm not slim, so it was a bit trepadacious for me at first...

edit: good quality knitwear for winter...dust and dirt will hopver off/febreze between cleanings if its a serious handwash/dry clean. Sadly I can't do this most of the time: my animal clothes often smell of we through winter, so machine becomes vital!

During my first couple of years of uni I worked as a stagehand/engineer (basically a roadie that doesn't travel around :p) quite a lot often straight after uni so i lived in jeans & tshirts. I feel your pain ;) safety boots are ugly things (at least mine are anyway!) I was grateful they made them in a size 4 though!

I find there's 2 ways of coping with working in a male dominated industry... either you make a fuss & prove you're as strong, loud and bossy as all the men or you just chill out and accept that the truck driver is going to call you 'flower' for the day even though you're in charge of the gig...

Anyway, i've found one of the main advantages of cutting down is being able to wear nicer things (that and the extra free time/ sleep).

Even if you have to wear practical stuff for work why not accessorise with some pretty earrings, loud tights or vibrant nail polish? Little things like that really make a difference and size isn't a factor.

Well I got that right at least, today I have black trousers, black floaty cardie thing, white vest top and white 3/4 sleeve cotton tshirt thingie (I'm hopeless!). But, I have a fab set of earrings and bracelet on (I made them myself) huge pink and purple pearl clusters and I fushia nail polish and diamante hair clip in! There is hope for me yet....:o

Well that sounds pretty stylish to me! I'd love to take a peek at your handmade jewellery - any chance of a photo?
Have you thought about a lace body to wear underneath a jacket or waistcoat? That would be pretty without going too over the top.

    It sounds fine.

My personal advise is to wear something other than white though as a first challenge! with black trousers/skirt. while its beautifully classic and works wonderfully...it can look a bit like a waiter/waitress

Another question would be don't just class yourself as an 18...have a look in the mirror, see how your boddy is shaped. And if your boobs are big buy a decent bra: bras make the most amazing difference. I only have one that is right ATM, today my bra is one from before I lost some weight, and by god my boobs are NOT where they are meant to be.

Big gals aren't meant to wear things like roll necks, but one of my best things ATM was a charity shop purchase this winter, of a green roll neck...with the bra that fits on I feel good in this. I don't mind if my ''banger'' look huge.:)

Hi all you fashionable lovelies. Hope no one minds me joining in?

I'm back to work on Saturday after a lovely 9 months of on maternity leave (and 7 before that due to illness throughout pregnancy) and think its about time that I start to make an effort with my clothes again. I work in an office with a lot of young girls (im only 21) but they make me feel so old now because I'm a mummy.

I've lost all my baby weight but people still comment that I look a mess :(

Used some of my Xmas vouchers the other day and bought:

    and:

(in black, grey, nude and white)

I'm going shopping tomorrow for some more wardrobe basics and then I'm going to start building from there. Apart from some nice black trousers what would anyone suggest? Especially with Spring supposedly approaching I haven't got a clue

I really like the tunic/jersey dress with tights and boots look but can never find the perfect one :(

You people are all so stylish it puts me to shame. If it helps I'm a size 6 with no curves (it sucks)

I love that! But don't think I could wear it for work - yowzer. What would I wear under it just a bra, the boys might like it though!

I have been trying to photograph my jewellery but I cant quite get the photos right, I have taken advice and need to spend some time this weekend trying to get to grips with it. Will post when I get it right :)

Goodness, I'm late posting today. hello everyone new and old *waves*.

Some of my Amazon things came today, mostly tent and camping stuff and amazing toaster etc. But I ordered a cute bag and i think it's by the same company that make the airmail coin purse of Daisys. It was expensive for what it was but since it was a win...
