i find asda a lot cheaper lol, i used to shop at tesco until about a year ago when i did one shop with tesco and one with asda i had the exact same items in my basket (online shopping) and the asda shop was 28 pounds cheaper! that alone was enough to convert me as i felt it was a huge saving i find the quality of asda veg not as good as tesco it doesnt last as long but that i can deal with,i use asdas own brand dishwasher liquid which i find good a bottle lasts me ages i also use a lot of asdas smart price items, only downside to asda shopping is i find they make a lot of mistakes with the online shopping wronge items/items missing but whenever i have to ring up they refund right away no questions asked, i find its a price im willing to pay for 28 quid a week plus if they sub you with a more expensive item you get charged your origanal item price:j

Personally - i think it takes too long to shop around, although it definately doesn't mean i miss out on savings of £40 - 45 a month - I think the most i would be most i would spend a month would be about £120. My most recent shop cost £44 in Sainsburies and that should last me 2 weeks, obviously buying some fresh milk, bread, fruit and veg for the 2nd week (max £7).
I normally would shop in Tesco, Sainsburies I find expensive but I was in the shopping centre for other stuff so decided to do the grocery shop in it! Asda - i do find the cheapest - but the quality not as good!

If i shopped around - it would take 10 mins to drive between the major supermarkets as they are not all beside each other, and the petrol costs would outway the savings.
The only amoutn of shopping around i do - is for offers in my local centra and spar - i check out their offers before the main supermarket shop!

I see what you mean, I would say Tesco is more expensive than Sainsburys, I have a Sainsburys round the corner from me but I go to the one which is about 4 miles from my house, reason for that is I pop into Farmfoods on the way there, when I get there I have Asda, Boots and Sainsburys right next to each other. If I go the other way (towards the beach) I have Asda and Aldi next to each other so I don't spend a fortune on Petrol, therefore I am able to shop around cheaply so to speak.

i noticed when i went shopping some of their value stuff and own brand stuff has gone up by 400% price increase in the space of a week how do they justify that

Tesco are bad for that, they sre also bad for having offers that are never there when you go for them, as soon as the offer is over, the goods mysteriously appear on the shelves.

I bought 8 jars of ASDA cheapo mild curry sauce for 6p a jar about 3 weeks ago. It was actually really nice, and when I saw that Tesco do a cheap can of curry sauce for 4p, I thought that it was just always at that price.
Still virtually alcohol free since 4/1/15. (10 Xmas/ New Year/Birthday drinks)

Tesco curry sauce has been 4p for a long time, I first bought it last September.

The funny thing is, they don't use it a means to attract customers into the shop. They don't advertise it and you have to look hard to find it. In my local Tesco it isn't on the shelves, it's on the floor underneath the shelf!
