  • Thank you for your help.

I have since phoned sky caddie and spoke to a sales person who said they have had problems with Tomorrows golfer, but they couldnt do much about it. I mentioned the complaint posted on their forums website

This prompted them to give me a mobile phone number for Tomorrows Golfer which I phoned and a chap called Mark Cottrel answered. He was travelling in his car, so couldn't go into details of the order but he assured me I would get my goods within the next 2 days. He also divulged he operated from Painswick Golf Club, Gloucestershire. Unable to contact them at the moment, perhaps its one of those small clubs that only have part time staff.

ahh, that's a little progress then. we'll see what happens in a few days then. if you speak to him again, mention this thread. keep us updated as to what happens so other people can see how this is resolved. good luck, hope you get what you paid for.
  • moccarella,

    Did you receive your item?

This is all so concerning - I don't understand the varying levels of service. I just want to be amongst the first people in the UK to get my SGX, is that too much to be asked??!!
  • The saga continues

Since my last post, I phoned Painswick Golf Club, and spoke again to Mark Cottrell, who said my Sky Caddie would definately arrive within the next couple of days. It arrived yesterday 01/04/10. Upon opening the packaging I thought immediately something was wrong. The Sky Caddie box looked a little worn and had a coffee mug imprint on the top. The contents inside were not wrapped in plastic, no protective cover, no user manual. I switched on the sky caddie, and low and behold it had the previous owners details still recorded complete with 6 golf courses pre loaded. It would appear that Tommorows golfer are buying up second hand equipment and then palming them off as new. Could anyone provide more information as to how a new Sky Caddie is packaged.

As it is now easter there is not much I can do at the moment but any suggestions welcome.

I would definately warn anyone not to do business with this company.

I would ring trading standards and give them the details of the website registered by Faye Cottrell, Painswick golf club, and Mark Cottrell, sounds like you are not going to get what you ordered and paid for.

I would also write to the secretary of Painswick Golf Club, if it exists, and ask what involvement the club has with the company and in it's affairs, or is it the pro or a member going off on his or her own thing, however, at present according to the R&A Painswick doesnt have a current professional? a little odd.

I would imagine you paid by credit card? if so contact them as they have a responsibility and will take it up for you, failing all of this there is the small claims online procedure, but it depends if any of these people have any assets to claim against.

There is also BBC Watchdog, who may take an interest.

I think by reading the post above, if this person is one and the same with an involvement in the company you traded with, you are not going to get much information or assistance, just fobbed off.

    Good luck
  • Afternoon Folks, I have read with much interest the saga around this golf site. I have to say I seem to be one of customers that has had nothing but a smooth transaction with the company,

    Ordered 1/4 a sgx unit
and have received an email stating the item will be sent out in the middle of April which seems to be in keeping with other golf outlets?
  • Geoff,

I agree with you about the date of release for the SGX, however, I am extremely concerned beacuse there is no answer from the number on the Tomorrow's Golfer website (it permanently goes to voicemail and messages are not returned). This is not to mention the problems that Moccarella details above regarding recieving used goods, which are supposed to be new.

If anyone has any further progress / comments please make them known on here and then perhaps we could formulate a strategy going forward to ensure our orders are satisfied. Perhaps we could get them directly from Sky Caddie who have acknowledged Tomorrow's Golfer as a registered supplier of their products?

    Alistair.
  • I managed to contact the previous owner of my SkyCaddie and he confirmed he had returned the Skycaddie back to Tomorrows Golfer as it would not charge properly. He too had no replies to emails sent and phone calls so was now proceeding with claiming the money back from his credit card. I have since spoken to Faye Cottrel who was astonished at what was happening. A few hours later I received an email confirming a refund on my credit card and that the whole thing was a mix up.

I have now purchased the same goods from the Pro at my golf club for the same price.
  • Regards,

Having just contacted TomorrowsGolfer about my order for an sgx gps system I have to say I have been reassured by their answers to my queries which were-

Point 1-Are they passing off second hand units as new, to which they assured me that this was an isolated incident caused solely by human error.

Point 2-I was going to ask about the lack of communication some have had but seeing as they answered and emailed me back alomost immediately this would have been a little cheeky.

Point 3-I asked the gentleman on the phone about this forum and he seemed concerned and assured me that he was aware of the comments but there was little they could do apart from continue to work hard on their customer service. He did say that the company sends out units every day and that there are only a very small number of people who have had problems and they have all been refunded.

I for one feel nothing but reasurred by his answers.

    Regards Geoff
  • Geoff,

I agree. I emailed Tomorrow's Golfer this morning to enquire about when I should expect my SkyCaddie SGX and I got a very quick response to my query.

    Alistair.
