No, but then again heroin is illegal, cigarettes are legal.Conjugating the verb 'to be":

Unless Hilary wishes to assist her daughter in the conscious decision to shorten her life the answer is no. She should also ban her from smoking in the house and point out as well that she goes on holiday for her own benefit, not to take shopping lists with her.0

She shouldn't do it. If she disapproves of smoking anyway then it's a no brainer. There are, however, a few issues here:
1. Would she really want to carry the package back along with her luggage etc? 40 packs of 20 cigarettes is not exactly small.
2. It might mean that the cheap airline charges her for more luggage too.
3. Isn't her daughter more than a little insensitive to her feelings about smoking and smoking around a child to even ask her?
4. I'd treat it as a joke and don't do it. My stepdaughter smokes and apologises for it almost every time I see her. I don't say anything or even give her a look about it. She's a great gal in every other way.0 -
Yes she should buy them but with the exchange rate as it is at the moment, and the cost of the cigarettes in europe at the moment, there probably wouldn't be much saving so bite the bullet and pay the chancellor our prices.0

Hillary should buy the cigarettes, note the amount spent and sell the fags at 20% on top of the cheap price, Hillary can then put that 20% into Bill's Child Trust Fund.Long time MSE member… just sitting in silence in the background. If Hilary does not agree with Chelsea smoking, then NO she should not buy her the cigarettes. Simple!0

buy the fags but.....
don't give them to her all at once, charge her the normal price in the UK minus a little discount, put the extra money aside for the grandson in a high interest regular saver account - he'll need it when his mom dies of a smoking related illness!!!!0 -

What a gem of a reply. Had me in stitches for a while there.0 -
She definitely shouldn't buy them. Whatever other impact this has, she's sending a clear message that she loves her daughter and grandson and won't do anything to harm them if she can help it. What Chelsea does is her choice, although she shouldn't inflict that on her son, but Hilary has her own need to protect those she loves and that takes precedence over her daughter's addiction. Chelsea might not like it but, by refusing to do her harm, her mother would effectively be saying that she loves her.0

So your argument is that because the Daily Mail accuses lots of things of causing cancer, therefore smoking somehow doesn't?
No, that's not my argument.
At least no more so than yours that: "the only thing to cause cancer is cigarettes, and cigarettes will always cause cancer," which is what you're implying, but I'm sure you'd disagree with.
At least I'd certainly hope so.Conjugating the verb 'to be":
