And if they did ask for it back? Just say it covered your out of pocket expenses and compensated in a very small way for your traumatic experience - and by the way what are they going to do in the future to make sure their agents do not break the law again? :p

    :T Excellently worded!

Don't worry the £50 was not a gesture of goodwill it was to keep you happy, not the sort of publicity a baby and child shop wants the public to know about!

Come shop with us and our friendly PPC will ignore the equality act and slap you with a £50 invoice!

Hopefully its another nail in the PPC's coffin and they will be dispensed with.
  • Got one of these in the post this morning, for having spent too long in my gym. You'd think that, when I'm paying £38 a month for peak membership, I should have unlimited use of the gym, right? Their website does state 'free parking' and mentions absolutey nothing about a 3 hour limit so I'm going to take the letter to the gym this evening and tell them to make it go away.
Anyone else have experience of gym car parks and Parking Eye? Surely they have some sort of system to input the car registrations of gym members?

  • Went to the gym. Without need for any fuss whatsoever, they took the letter off me and said 'We'll deal with this'. Guess they have some sort of system to input my details to. Glad it was so painless. If not, I definitely would've been complaining... ;)

Or they thought Parking Spy were going to manage their car park, and now realised they are a bigger pain then the abusers!

At least you wont have to but up with the garbage from parking spy! Well done for complaining that's the way to get rid of these parasites!

Although Parking Spy will most likely try and issue the gym with a cancellation charge :(

Then a little later I received a cheque from them! Refund for the £50 (that I never actually paid since I stopped the cheque) and I didn't know what to do with it. I left it sitting for a couple of weeks, expecting them to realise that my cheque would be unpaid and to ask for their cheque back. Instead, a few days ago, I received a Final Notice from them! My charge had not been paid after 2 letters and therefore I now "owe" them £80, rising to £110 if not paid within this week! This is around 2 weeks after the "there is no charge on this account" letter and the subsequent refund cheque. I ranted and raved into Mothercare with it where they told me to ignore it. I was so annoyed by the whole affair by this point that I decided just to cash their cheque, since they clearly suck at checking records. Just wondering what I should expect to happen now? Should I have not cashed the cheque? I am considering it to be compensation for the £10 it cost me to stop the original cheque, plus interest added on for the inconvenience and unnecessary stress!

So much for my compensatory cheque. They cancelled it . Ach well, you win some you lose some I guess.
