The advice in England/Wales has changed - DO NOT IGNORE!!!!

So stop reading this ancient thread and get reading the sticky threads on page one from this year instead!!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Parked at Monks Cross, York last Monday as was shopping for school uniforms. Went 40mins over the 4hr limit (and still didn't have time to get everything i needed!) and recieved a PCN from parkingeye today. Have shopped there for years with no problems. Within1/2 hour of emailing Monks Cross they replied saying it had only been in a month and asking for the PCN number and promising to cancel it. They told me to ignore any further letters. Also told me next time I visit to pop into information centre to register my numberplate and I won't be issued a ticket if I take longer than 4 hours. The ParkingEye is there to stop office workers abusing the parking, not to penalise shoppers. Very relieved to hear that!:T

Nope, sorry, Parking Spy DO NOT DISCRIMINATE. They give tickets to anything with 2 or 4 wheels that moves! I had been a genuine park and shop customer for years, never once abused the system, still got a ticket. So pants to Parking Eye, and pants to the shop, I got a refund but won't be shopping there again.

They would ticket a pram, buggy or a mobility scooter whilst the owner drew money from an ATM if they could
  • Could anyone please help me?

I live in England and was in Scotland on 24th August 2011. I was visiting Bathgate retail park and have been issued a parking ticket from them. They have sent me pictures of my car entering the car park at11.19am and leaving at 14.14. They say the car park only allows 2 hours parking.

I do not recall seeing any signs when I drove into this car park. If anyone lives in this area or knows this retail car park, could they please let me know if they do have adequate signs posted. I really can't afford a £50 parking fine.

  • Just recieved a parking charge letter from parking eye ...I know i paid but no longer have the ticket. The letter has a photo of my car entering and leaving. I know i bought a ticket as the couple in front had problems getting the machine to accept their pound coin which i changed for them..I then bought my ticket.
Feeling a little nervous about leaving it and not paying but why should i pay again..
What does everyone else think.....needing support!
