Final Demand duly received and ignored several months ago now.

Fighting ALL tickets now and starting to unearth impropriety in my local council, badly maintained ticket dispensers, vindictive parking ticket stampers etc. Have spent some time 'interviewing' wardens and counter-photographing cars with alleged violations. My council is now clearly using trivial violations as a form of revenue. Tiny encroachment of pavements when the parking slots are too narrow, ambiguous temporary signs etc etc.

I now fight tickets all the way to court just to make sure that truth and justice is administered, switch trade away from key areas where the fascism is most prevalent, dissing my city and encouraging people to stay away from areas where traffic Nazis jackboot around !!!!ing off people who want to spend money and enjoy our town.

A tiny amount of flexibility would go a long way. Unfortunately the job attracts psychos and losers.

Council tickets fight, but it's not worth fighting Private invoices when it's easier to ignore them.

Motorists are the cash cows for councils, be it increasing parking charges, increasing the number of ticket issuing people both in numbers and the times they work (10pm at night in some places!)

Chill out stop worrying, read the posts carefully, the "Solicitor" and Debt Collector" are on adjacent desks and as potent as a pitbull with rubber teeth, they have no legal claim on you so do what you have been advised and ignore them.

Well done for your fight. Unfortunately councils use tax payers money to defend themselves in court; which is why good case or not they will continue to hound the motorist knowing that it will not cost them personally a single penny.

We need to introduce a system whereby a council officer who wrongly pursues a motorist in court PERSONALLY has to pay some of the court costs from their own salary.

Councils are of no relevance to this thread.

A large majority of threads on MSE go off at a tangent on to related topics. This broadens the discussion and adds to the sum total of knowledge on the particular forum on this board.

I would argue that leads to a vibrant community with much more interesting threads.

In the case of this thread councils are of relevance since PPC often like to pretend they have the same powers; hence highlighting the differences to the novice with their first parking ticket.

Yeah, because that's really going to happen.

If enough council tax payers/voters want it to happen then it will happen.

Unfortunately an increasing number of people adopt a defeatist attitude, sit back and say it will never happen and do nothing. I feel sorry for these people as they are destined to achieve very little of note in their lives.
