Parking Eye - Nasty tricks
Comments

Hi,
I need a bit of re-assurance please. My third letter came today from Parking Eye saying the £50 amount had expired and had to pay the £80. If not paid by 9th June it will go up to £110 and if this is sill not paid then I could receive a CCJ and a bailiff will attend my address to remove goods.
Scary stuff and I am tempted to pay it. Should I still ignore it? I haven't contacted them at all but this last letter has me worried. All comments greatly appreciated.0 -

Damn damn damn! I wish I had found this thread a couple of days ago!
I've have my invoice from PE which I have foolishly paid (please don't shoot me down in flames!)
However, I am now wondering whether I can claim this money back through my credit card (Egg) due to being misinformed of the legalities and being bullied into paying? Is this an option worth investigating, or should I just chalk it up to (an expensive) experience?0 -
You can try a charge back but I would not hold my breath. Unfortunately these charges are not illegal they are just unenforceable.
Now there is a case of someone taking Parking Spy to court who won and had the charge repaid!

You may have to put this down to experience, at least you now know for the future!0 -

Probably could not afford too after they have had to pay all that unpaid VAT, after losing their appeal against HMRC!0 -

Their charge was "dishonoured cheque", which means there were insufficiency funds to pay the cheque. That wasn't what happened. The cheque was cancelled by the motorist once they found out the truth about private parking tickets.
The reason they sent the cheque was because of the intimidating and threatening nature of the letters from the PPC and debt collectors. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

I recieved the third and FINAL NOTICE from them some weeks ago. They are trying it on and if you pay they will have won by intimidating you and that's what they rely on. I have never heard of anyone ending up in Court due to this.
