Do you mean the PPC or the dumb fool solicitor with his wrong 'tentative advice'?!:D

I haven't read such stupid solicitor's advice about a PPC in a long time, just as bad and uninformed as a CAB adviser. Hope you didn't pay for that advice, angymotorist, if so you woz robbed! You should just ignore the whole PPC scam.

Your letter did no harm, was it CAG forums that told you to send that letter? We don't agree with sending anything, purely because it's futile (as you have discovered). The PPC will simply roll out its usual threatogram letter-chain at you, regardless. And you just need to ignore it, regardless of anything except real Court papers (which will never arrive, just threats).

All you need to do is look at the top stickies 'PPC letters, what to expect' which is self-explanatory, and 'welcome, please read before posting' which has info and a link to a proper solicitor on Watchdog last year. Read the threads here:

Why not send the Watchdog link of Tim Cary Solicitor, to that dumb solicitor you saw today and tell him what you have learned (and ask for a refund if he charged you for that visit).

thanks for that, I am just checking that thread out now. How ironic that the "appeal letter" MIRRORS mine exactly...also note how it is never signed by anyone at Parking Eye. My new theory as to their "delay tactics" is that they outsource their mail....usually adds a couple of days to the proceedure.
Anyhow, does anyone have any examples of any letters further than a "final notice" from parking eye? I.e. Have they ever referred anyone's case on to a "debt recovery" agent? I notice that some of the other example letters for other PPC's have debt collection examples. I'm just interested to know if Parking Eye take it any further than a final notice usually?

Only letters I've had match up with that. I ignored, didn't appeal.

With regards to Karent's post about dropping the daughter at work and collecting end of the day yet getting a ticket is near enough identical to the situation that saw OPC taken to court, I think. Any estemmed members confirm this?

(Still relatively new to posting in this section, just a long time lurker)

It's not a fine ..just ignore it ..read the stickies at the top of the forum.

Private companies can not FINE anyone for anything.
  • I'm grateful for the advice on this forum. I too have had my first Parkingeye invoice.. (My wife is trying to make me pay it... but not now she isn't !)

Normally, I'd have been an idiot and paid it... but I remembered seeing something on watchdog one night about these cowboys. So after finding this forum, I've decided to wait and collect the full set.

    Eagerly awaiting letter #2:rotfl:

  • Hi
I also just received one from Havant Parking Eye - after filling my car up mistakenly with petrol instead of diesel I broke down here. Waited for Auto Fuel Fix (superb company) to drain my tank and get me going, £180 + a wasted fill up of petrol, then a fill up of diesel another £50 and got going to receive a parking eye notice on Sat. What a month, thanks for your advice, has anyone had a court order from Parking Eye re Havant, what an expensive trip out !!!

Thanks for all the info guys. Have had a "parking ticket" from Parking Eye about parking in Havant this morning and looking at the times and my receipts from the shops, the two don't match. Was going to contact them but will now be ignoring them. Strange my friend and I went in two cars at the same time but only I have a ticket. Did not see any parking signs and spent a fortune in the shops there. So glad I looked here for advice. Will spend my £50 elsewhere:j:j
