It states on the LloydsTSB website that if you already have one Vantage current account then you must visit a branch to open further accounts:

    Before you start

You’ll need to be able to confirm all of the statements below. If you can’t, please go in to any Lloyds TSB branch to talk through your account options.
    • I do not have a current account with Lloyds TSB.
    • I am aged 18 or over.
    • I am a UK resident.
    • I will pay £1000 or more into my account each month (for example, my salary).
    • I am an EU national OR I have permission to stay in the UK for at least 12 months.

No you need to use the open a new account link once you are logged in.
I opened accounts 2 and 3 online as have many others.
If you are an existing account holder you may be able to apply online, after logging in to your online banking, as detailed by Baldur above.
I say may as for some it still directs you to the branch.
Remember it is a Classic account you need to apply for. Vantage is an add on upgrade which can be done online instantly once the account is open

I just upgraded to Vantage online as you said. This is now my 5th Vantage account(not sure how theyve let that happen). Happy days. Just need to move some money around now:)

Tried to open a second Vantage account but was told to go into the Branch. It failed to add that I will be bombarded by requests to deposit my money in other investment accounts.

That wont happen if you opt out of marketing.

I tried to open a Classic/ Vantage current account online. Heard nothing for ages, then got a letter telling me I must go to a branch as I already have an account with them. I only have an ISA, nothing else. On the online application it only says if you have already got a current account with them...
