I feel for you Mark, it's hard to be in your position in a relationship and your mum being ill just adds to the stress. You say there is only you putting any effort in, from your wife's POV she may feel you caused the situation so you need to sort it and she can take what she wants at the moment with no pressure. I know it's not much comfort but not knowing how it's going to work out is much worse than knowing one way or the other and getting on with it.

Thanks.
You're absolutely right. Plus the fact she's still living in the same house has to be a positive I guess. At times I think the no pressure approach is for the best, but at other times I just think we could still be in this situation in 12 months time!!
One thing is for certain though, if I push her for a decision there is a very real danger I'll push her away and that would kill me on top of everything else I'm going through.
Just been out and bought something nice to cook for tea - hopefully the way to her heart is through her stomach!!
Thanks again to everyone who has been so supportive...Have I slept through Christmas & the New year?0 -

I buy them on a regular basis - now!
Without wishing to blow my own trumpet, whatever happens here I know I'll come out of this a better person. She's admitted that she's seen a big change in me & if she wants to be a part of my life that's fantastic.
If she doesn't then I'll have to move on and live on my own, but as this better person.

Update!!!!
Well on Friday I got the fantastic news. After almost 10 weeks of ups and downs we are very much a couple back in love!
To anyone going through similar, don't give up! I've cried more tears these last few weeks than ever before, but to look into my wife's eyes and see the love is back is a feeling money can't buy!
Thanks to everyone who contributed to the thread and gave me hope.

Ignore the previous OP. These forums are not designed to be a tool for the ignorant to hurl personal abuse at posters. I think the old addage of "If you don't have something constructive to say, then don't say anything" comes to mind.
if anyone knows the previous poster, please feel free to read that out to them!
