Pooh - hope you feel better soon Thanks
I cleaned the hens out earlier and on the way to compost heap 4 I noticed that the original project crocus is ready to flower at the faintest promise of sun - all purple, 3 by .75 metres bed, looking very promising, and also the hundreds of snowdrops I painfully transplanted and divided from under the spikey pyracanthus last year to the stone circle garden have taken and it is looking good, give it a few years and it will be carpeted. I love it when a plan works.
You have a stone circle too. With snowdrops too. I am amazed! When the snow has gone I will put a photo of mine on FB
mumof2 It is totally unreasonable behaviour. They are taking advantage of your good nature.
I have only ever had that happen to me with a dog I was looking after. We ended up taking it camping on holiday with us because the owners couldn't be contacted. Not as bad as a child being left with you. Free childminding springs to mind.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Mumof2, while I agree it is despicable to leave a child and just go out, it wouldnt have been illegal for you to leave her in her garden (not that I would have 3wanted to do that either. The legality of it only occurs if the child is left INSIDE the house alone (no idea why!)
Anyway, perhaps you might have called tyhe mother and said if they werent back by 4,30 you would be taking the child with you and you would assume you had their permission. I know that might end uip as a rod for your own back, cos she might take advantage, but then afterwards, you could have called social services to explain to them exactly what happened and at elast you wouldnt have had to miss the party.
If/when she does come across, I guess you or DH is going to have to listen to her carefully and then say that this is just not on. You dont mind their DD coming over to platy, but you are not responsible for her and there should be someone either there or their whereabouts known to the daughter or to the person with whom the daughter is. Time for a line in the sand methinks. Be robust but polite and make sure it doesnt happen again. If said child comes to yours again, make sure that she knows where her mother will be when you need child to leave.Sealed pot challenge no 889: £143.96 saved :j

Mumof2 agree with pigpen, I've been used in a similar way before, as soon as I was aware of it it was stopped. I've had to go out when my son was playing at his friends before but went round & offered to take him with me but his Mum, my friend, said he could stay (10 minute errand) I'd expect the same respect. Regardless of the legality it's irresponsible, I wonder if you'd dropped her DD at the local police station for her to collect she'd have been able to explain to them. I'd be tempted if she did it again, might kick her up the ****
poohbear & boddy thank you for my hugs. Poohbear I hope you feel better soon, I waved as we went past the many signs for Alston on Monday on our way to Scotland, I know you aren't far from there.
I think I'm getting to Saturday, the end of my studying week each week and realising how far behind I am with study, home etc and wondering where the time has gone. I really need to get my planning better but things keep getting in the way. Tonight once the boys are in bed I am just doing study time, trying to get some catch up done. Not going to dot about trying to catch up on other stuff. One day I might be more organised...........

Yes, thinking about it that's what we should have done. But we were going back to the cousins after for a party tea etc etc and really didn't want to be taking the little girl across the road too - if that doesn't sound horribly mean.
This is the last time anything like this will happen I can tell you.
Many thanks to you all for your input, glad I wasn't just 'off one one' like I can do sometimes!Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0
