well you've made up my mind - I shall buy a something -
    ducks
    pigs
    goats
    bees
    hens
    chicks

    any preferences?

It's a bit more thoughtful than writing a cheque, at least...
although, Rach, I can see the 'advantage' of a big cash 'lump' too...
(personally I'd go for that tap, toilet and water for me as I think that water is key in a lot of this that's why my regular donation goes to Water Aid)
water aid DO wedding lists things!

only other thing Valli is to think about Gift Aid, where the charity can claim back 25% or whatever it is on your donation...check they can do that with the gifts as well as cash (not sure) xx

valli I love the idea of giving a gift like water or a goat etc. For DD's wedding last year we bought a vegetable garden for each table from one of the charitys. Loads of people said they liked the idea that when having a special meal they were also thinking of others less fortunate and doing something about it.

Lil_me Hugs , you have a lot on your plate at the moment. I missed you:)

sexymouse Well done on passing your NQT year, for your assembly and for standing up to the head. In my 25 years as a teacher there were far too many who were bullies.
I hope you find a better school soon. DS1 is home after a traumatic time on placement. He is going to visit local schools and hopefully rebuild his confidence. The kids weren't the problem!

I still haven't done any flying for a couple of days as my cold seems to have consumed all my energy. And I don't have much.

Froddington - thinking of you and your shadow
Hugs for Lil Me - sounds like you have a huge amount on
Mumof2 - sounds sensible to me, people often forget an interviw is also about seeing if you want to work somewhere too.
Valli - the tap sounds good to me - a very satisfying present.
Pooh - hope you feel better soon

I cleaned the hens out earlier and on the way to compost heap 4 I noticed that the original project crocus is ready to flower at the faintest promise of sun - all purple, 3 by .75 metres bed, looking very promising, and also the hundreds of snowdrops I painfully transplanted and divided from under the spikey pyracanthus last year to the stone circle garden have taken and it is looking good, give it a few years and it will be carpeted. I love it when a plan works :).

I have hoovered downstairs, and washed our bedding. Really need to do HHI but I dont want to :o.
